Melt Cosmetics is one of the most hyped indie breaks to explode onto the beauty scenes. Known for its edgy vibes and grungy color stories, many Melt Cosmetic palettes are cult classics for risk-taking makeup lovers. But which ones are worth the hype? Keep reading for my Melt Cosmetics Palette ranking.
Melt Cosmetics Palette Ranking
9 | Melt Cosmetics Blueprint Stack ($48.00, CF)
I have mixed feelings about the Blueprint Stack. Although the pigmentation is there, the shadows are too soft and crumbly. Additionally, I wish this was a fully blue palette and that the shadows lasted longer on my eyes. For my full thoughts, check out this in-depth review.
Note: I ended up tossing this palette in the trash because the shades exploded/crumbled apart in my Melt Cosmetics Pro case. This was the deciding factor that landed this palette in the last spot of my Melt Cosmetics Palette ranking.
8 | Melt Cosmetics Millennial Pinx Palette ($58.00, CF)
I am sad to list the Melt Cosmetics Millennial Pinx Palette so low in my Melt Cosmetics Palette ranking. However, the color story of this palette is so limited compared to other Melt Cosmetics palettes in my collection.
The shimmer shades in the Millennial Pinx Palette have a strange texture that feels almost sticky. Also, the shimmer shades lack the impact that I’m used to from Melt eyeshadows. For my in-depth thoughts, please check out this review of the Melt Cosmetics Millennial Pinx Palette.

7 | Melt Cosmetics Radioactive Palette ($48.00, CF)
The Melt Cosmetics Radioactive Palette was hard to place within my Melt Cosmetics Palette Ranking. Within the Melt Cosmetics family, the Radioactive Palette is a bit of a unicorn.
Undoubtedly, the Radioactive Palette is super fun and colorful. It is full of bright neon shadows. However, this palette may be more difficult for beginners who are just starting to play with makeup. Also, despite my love of colorful shadow, I do not reach for this palette as regularly as some of the other palettes featured in this ranking.

6 | Melt Cosmetics Gun Metal Stack ($55.00, CF)
The Gun Metal Stack was my very first Melt Cosmetics purchase. I remember lusting after this palette for months while I was on my very first No-Buy in 2016/2017. Not only did I have to wait until my No Buy ended to purchase this palette, but I had to wait months for the Gun Metal stack to come back into stock online.
While I enjoy the compact shape of the stacks, I tend to reach for traditional palettes more often than the stacks. Also, this color story is a little much for daily wear.

5 | Melt Cosmetics Smoke Sessions Palette ($48.00, CF)
The Melt Cosmetics Smoke Sessions Palette is a Cannabis-inspired minty, blue-green palette. The Smoke Sessions Palette is the most unique in the Melt Cosmetics range due to the abundance of high impact shimmer shadows.
Smoke Sessions is the only traditional Melt Cosmetics palette that contains more shimmer shadows than matte shadows. Although these metallic shades are crumbly, the Smoke Sessions metallics are my favorites in the line.

4 | Melt Cosmetics Twenty-Seven Palette ($58.00, CF)
The Twenty-Seven Palette is the Gemini Palette’s lesser-known and lesser loved sister, but completely beautiful nonetheless. Twenty-Seven is a pinky-coral coral palette with brown undertones. This palette is like the grungier older sister to ColourPop’s Sweet Talk Palette.
My only complaint with the Twenty-Seven Palette is that this is can be a “one look” palette. Many looks created with this palette look similar.

2 | Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette ($58.00, CF)
Are you surprised that my Gemini Palette is in the second spot of my Melt Cosmetics Palette Ranking?
The Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette is hyped for good reason. This palette is incredibly pigmented and the shadows are easy to blend. Gemini is great for building innovative, grungy smokey eyes. This is anything but you’re average neutral palette.
Price too high? Check out my attempt to dupe this palette for less.

1 | Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Muerte Palette ($58.00, CF)
Not only is the Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Muerte Palette my favorite Melt Cosmetics Palette, but it is my favorite eyeshadow palette of 2019. This Dia De Los Muertos inspired collection was incredibly well executed.
The color story of the Muerte Palette is unique and the shadows are high quality. Read my in-depth review of the Muerte Palette.

Final Thoughts on my Melt Cosmetics Palette Collection
Melt Cosmetics is one of the edgiest brands in the US beauty market. The founders are not afraid to take their collections to the limit. They set trends and their palettes are always hyped up for their quality. Additionally, the brand shines with its ability to create and curate cohesive, but unique color stories.
My love for the brand made it hard for me to write my Melt Cosmetics palette ranking, because I genuinely felt bad that some items were lower-ranked. Although some items are ranked lower than others, I genuinely love all of the products featured in the first 7 spots of my Melt Cosmetics palette ranking.
Although I didn’t love the Blueprint Stack, I want to pick up more stacks from Melt. The puck-style bundles played a major role in setting Melt Cosmetics apart in the market. That being said, I do prefer Melt’s “traditional” palettes overall.

Oh wow I’m trying to contain myself but the Gun Metal stack and Gemini palette look amazing, I want them!!
Girl, I’m so proud that you were able to resist the sale lol. (And I’m proud of me, too hahah). Maybe I’l pick something up during another one of the brand’s flash sales later this year!
As always, stunning photos (I swear I was drooling over some of those colour stories) and a pleasure to read too.
ahh thank you so much! 😀
You’re very welcome 💋
I can see why the Amor Eterno Muerte Palette is your favourite! The colours are so pretty and pigmented. I don’t have any Melt palettes but I think I’ll definitely be trying that one out.
It really was such a well executed collection!!
