Ultimate Face Palette Ranking | Best & Worst Palettes April 25, 2020
Are face palettes actually worthwhile or are they just another beauty industry gimmick? In today’s post, I’ll be sharing my ultimate face palette ranking to help you decide which palettes are worth purchasing or passing.

The Rise of the Face Palette
During the 2000s, beauty brands heavily capitalized on the pre-made palette trend. Everything from eyeshadows to lipsticks, blushes, and highlighter seemed to come in palette form.
While pre-made face palettes are good in theory, are they practical for the casual beauty consumer? How many shades in a highlight or contour palette will work for the same skin tone?
Ultimate Face Palette Ranking
10 | Anastasia Beverly Hills – Blush Trio in Peachy Love ($30.00, CF)
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio in the shade Peachy Love is a super vibrant, pigmented trio of peachy-toned blushes. However, the packaging makes it difficult to swirl a large blush brush.
For a time, these vibrant peach shades were completely unique to my collection. However, after picking up single blushes in similar tones, I ended up decluttering this palette.
9 | Wander Beauty – Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo in Bellini ($36.00, CF)
I was stoked to receive the Wander Beauty Trip for Two Blush & Bronzer Duo in my January 2020 Boxycharm. This duo is the first product I’ve tried from the brand and it did not disappoint. I appreciate the large pan sizes and the natural flush and warmth this brings to the face.
8 | Cover FX – Perfect Light Highlighting Palette in Light/Medium ($42.00, CF)
The Cover FX Perfect Highlighting Face Palette was a product I longed to own for some time due to the wet-looking, high shine formula. Although this quad is being discontinued by Cover FX, I enjoy the formula.
This face palette would have held a higher spot within my face palette collection ranking if one of the shades did not arrive with some unknown moisture on it. Although condensation can happen with balmy or creamy products, it was unsettling to see.
7 | Benefit Cosmetics – Cheekleaders Pink Squad Mini Cheek Palette ($30.00
The Benefit Cosmetics Cheekleaders Pink Squad Mini Cheek Palette a gorgeous highlighter and blush palette that adds a radiant flush to the cheeks. The packaging is compact and easy to pack for travel.
6 | Ofra – Island Time Face Palette ($49.00, CF)
The Ofra Island Time Face Palette was a product that I longed to own. Ofra makes some of my favorite highlighters in my collection. However, at close to $50 for a formula that was new-to-me, I hesitated to purchase this quad.
Although Island Time received little fanfare from the beauty community, I kept my eyes on this palette. Eventually, I snagged this palette during a major sale. The vibrant range of colorful blushes are so dreamy. It does not disappoint.
5 | Becca X Jaclyn Hill – Champagne Collection Face Palette ($56.00, CF)
Despite being an older item in my collection, I still love my Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face Palette. The highlighters and blushes are highly pigmented but still easy to apply. Also, the packaging is gorgeous.
4 | Alamar Cosmetics – Colorete Blush Trio in Medium ($22.00, CF)
The Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio was my favorite indie release of 2019. Not only do I love the compact size, but the shades are effortlessly beautiful. My face looks like a summer dream when I use this coral trio.
If you love supporting affordable, indie beauty brands, read my review of the Juvia’s Place Nubian or Warrior Palettes.
3 | Natasha Denona – Tan Bronze & Glow Face Palette ($55.00, CF)
What can I say?
From the packaging design to the product itself, the Natasha Denona Tan Bronze & Glow Face Palette is undoubtedly one of the prettiest face palettes I own. I love that this quad contains creams and powders. Also, the tones of this palette are so flattering that they can be used interchangeably as slowly highlights, blushes, or bronzer!
Curious about the Natasha Denona eyeshadow formula? Read my review of the Natasha Denona Sunrise Palette or the Natasha Denona Mini Lila Palette.
2 | KKW Beauty – Powder Contour & Highlighter Palette – Light ($44.00, CF)
As I started putting together my face palette collection ranking, I was surprised by how high I ended up ranking my KKW quad.
The KKW Beauty Powder Contour & Highlighter Palette is a beautiful contour kit that contains two contour and two highlighter shades. The formula is creamy and buildable – perfect for creating a natural looking contour. For more on KKW check out my review of the KKW Beauty Creme Contour Stick.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Swatches
1 | Charlotte Tilbury – Filmstar Bronze and Glow ($68.00, CF)
The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow is undoubtedly my favorite face palette. Moreover, it is the face palette that I use most frequently. The cool contour that helps to add definition to my face in a natural way while the highlighter provides a soft golden glow.
My Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow holds the top spot within my ultimate face palette ranking. Click here to see where the Hollywood Contour Wand ranks in my bronzer collection.
Final Thoughts on My Face Palette Collection Ranking
Despite having a sizable number of products in my ultimate face palette ranking, I do not often use face palettes. Instead, I tend to reach for singular cheek products.
Moreover, I typically prefer face palettes that include a mix of cheek products. Often times, highlighter and bronzer palettes contain too many colors that won’t work for my skin tone.
Although I don’t reach for face palettes everyday, I enjoy packing cheek palettes when I travel. When strapped for time or space, a face palette can make packing easier and more compact.
As always, I don’t hate most of the products that I declutter nor do I dislike products included towards the end of a ranking roundup. Ultimately, not every product can be a ‘favorite’ product. I only own one face.
