Huge Mascara Collection 2020 February 22, 2020
I love being a part of the online beauty community. Not only is beauty my hobby, but it is my life passion. Whether I’m reading about the latest industry updates or following along with the newest releases, I love all things beauty-related.
As a beauty lover, I’ve tried countless makeup, skincare, and hair care products over the years and own a sizable beauty collection. In today’s post, I will be discussing my huge mascara collection.
Unlike many of my other collection posts, I will not be ranking or swatching my mascara collection. (1) I have not tried most of these formulas and (2) opening all of my mascaras at one time would be wasteful and foolish.

Final Thoughts on My Mascara Collection
I’m lucky to have fairly long, black lashes, so most mascaras work for me. I used to be a die-hard drugstore mascara buyer, but now I purchase a mix of affordable and prestige mascaras. This should preference is quite apparent when you look at my mascara collection. Formula-wise, I typically prefer mascaras that lift and add volume to my lashes.
This is the largest my mascara collection has ever been. But how did my mascara collection explode? Mascaras are popular freebies given out at events and conferences. Mascaras are frequently included in subscription services and constantly included in sets.
Outside of the blue, pink, purple, and red ColourPop mascaras, everything above was either included in a larger makeup sampler kit or acquired for free. In fact, many of these mascaras came into my life when I purchased the 2019 Sephora Lash Collection kit.
Nevertheless, I feel confident that I can finish at least 4 of these mascaras in 2020! Thankfully if you have a huge mascara collection like I do, there are ways to repurpose your mascara wands and donate them to charity!

I am still on the hunt for my Holy Grail mascara – currently my fave is Benefit Roller Lash, and that’s lush, but it makes my eyes a little sore after long-time wear. 😣 I am sure there is one out there that’ll better it, so the search continues.
Am loving following your makeup collection posts, Ms Newbury, keep em coming. 😊
Thanks

OMG now I’m a little afraid to try the Roller Lash – I’ve never had a mascara make my lashes sore!! And thank you – this series initially made me a little nervous for judgement, but I think its actually been helpful for me to refamiliarize myself with what I own lol. Hope you find your holy grail mascara soon!!
Lol – sorry to scare you, it might just be my eyes, sometimes they can be a bit sensitive. What’s to judge, most of us have good (often sizable) makeup collections that have been curated over time & I think the series is great!
I’m still looking for a mascara that I can truly say is the best one for me. I think mascara is one makeup product where the drugstore ones are a perfect match for the higher-end mascaras as some of the drugstore mascaras I’ve tried have been much better than the more luxurious mascaras I’ve tried. If you could recommend one for longer and more voluminous lashes, which would it be?
Oooo that’s a tough one. Right now I’m using badGal Bang! from Benefit and that adds volume, length, and lifts the lashes… but the first few times you apply it the mascara can look a little spidery (which I don’t mind). Once it dries a little, the formula is less spidery.
Overall, my top 3 formulas are the Milk Makeup KUSH Mascara, Benefit badGal Bang, and Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara – all aver extremely volumizing, lengthening, and lifting. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that I’m going to be obsessed with the Thrive Causemetics Mascara, too. Everyone raves about that formula!!
I used to only purchase drug store mascara, but I’ve fallen off there a little bit… but I totally agree that the drugstore has some incredible mascaras!! I really need to test more.
All of a sudden, my mascara collection exploded too! I did get a lot of them as freebies, just like you said. Moreover, I had a fase where I thought I didn’t have any back up mascaras left and kept buying new ones lmao oops.
lol its so bad bc I still somehow want to buy mascaras or backups of my faves, but I really can’t justify it unless I work through more mascaras or start giving them away hahaha
Ahh yes, mascara’s with their short expiration dates means going through it slowly! But you are so lucky you don’t really need mascara! I find it impossible to keep my lashes curled and lifted sadly!
Aw I’m sure you have lovely natural lashes!!
Aww!
Your collection seems so amazing I have like three mascaras and use like one lol! Good luck finishing some of them!
lol I’m so hopeful I’ll really cut this down, but I get so many of these as freebies so I just have too many right now lol! I prob won’t need to buy mascara for the next year (or two) haha
Lol I’m sure you’ll be able to finish some of them still!
Wow!! So many!! I would love to see a ranked mascaras post whenever you get through all of them, (no matter how long it takes, hehe). Or maybe a post of the ones you *have already tried?? 😁
I’ve realized that I’m probably the worst to review mascaras, because I can usually get *most* mascaras to work for me. Like some mascaras blow me away, but I’ve realized that some of the issues that other people tend to have with mascara don’t often happen with me. (I think because my lashes are naturally long, dark, and have a bit of a curl). I’ve only tried one mascara this year/end of 2019 that I’ve full-on hated!
You are so lucky! Do you not have troubles with smudging either?? I feel that’s my biggest issue with most.
I don’t typically have a smudging problem unless I intentionally make the bottom lash line a little smudged and messy looking. Sometimes I kinda like having a “lived-in” look like that.
Is it usually just the bottom lash line where you smudge or is it both the upper and lower lash line? I’ve seen some beauty gurus using super tiny wands for the bottom line to prevent clumping and smudging.
I don’t even use mascara on my bottom lashes because I would look like I got punched if I did lol. My smudges happen from my upper lashes but only smudge underneath my eyes, never on my lids. 🙁
Do you wear eyeshadow primer? I’m wondering if that could be it …. like If it is maybe the oil from your eyelids? If I didn’t wear primer that would be happening to me.
No I don’t wear any primer lol, oops!! I didn’t know it would effect mascara & my eyeshadow never has any oily creases?? So I never thought that could be the problem but I’ll test it out. 🙂
