Subscribing to Boxycharm in 2019 felt like riding a rollercoaster of emotions. As with all subscription box services, some monthly boxes contained products I liked better than others. Although I felt like December’s box contained great products, was the January 2020 Boxycharm any good? Please keep reading for my unboxing of the January 2020 Boxycharm!

What was in the January 2020 Boxycharm Box?
Ace Beaute Vintage Dawn Eyeshadow Palette | $34.99, CF
Ace Beaute is one of the indie brands that I’ve been dying to try. In fact, I longed for the Grandiose and Flair Palettes since palettes they launched. After seeing a few spoilers, online I realized that either the Vintage Dawn Eyeshadow Palette or the Scarlett Dusk Eyeshadow Palette came in the January box.
Receiving either palette would have been fine. However, I love that the Vintage Dawn Palette feels like an interesting take on a half-neutral, half-colorful palette.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask | $22.00, CF
Glow Recipe is one of the hottest clean skincare brands on the market. Everyone raves about the Watermelon Sleeping Mask* online. I contemplated picking up one of the Glow Recipe holiday sets containing this mask, so I am glad that I held off!
Grande Cosmetics Grandedrama Intense Thickening Mascara | $25.00, CF
Although I know I am blessed with long, black lashes, Grande Cosmetics’ lash and brow serums always tempt me. However, as someone with vision problems, I am always nervous about chemicals near my eyes.
Nevertheless, receiving the Intense Thickening Mascara* excited me! This is a “safe” product for me to test from the brand. If I like this mascara, I’m likely to feel more comfortable trying one of the brow or lash serums!
Too Faced Diamond Light Highlighter | $36.00, CF
When the Too Faced Pretty Rich Collection released in 2019, I didn’t feel called to purchase anything. However, I am happy to receive the Diamond Light Highlighter* based on swatches I’ve seen online.
Wander Beauty Trip for Two Blush and Bronzer Duo | $36.00, CF
Would you believe that I never tried Wander Beauty? I was thrilled to finally receive something from the brand in this month’s Boxycharm. Also, I wear powder blush and bronzer almost daily, so I’m excited to try this duo!
Final Thoughts on the January Box
Y’ALLLLLLLLL. Without a doubt, the January 2020 Boxycharm Box was worth the $25.00 price tag. Moreover, this month’s box impressed me the most out of all the boxes I received.
Not only did this month’s box contain a mix of well-known indie and mainstream brands, but the January 2020 Boxycharm contained a great variety of products! I liked that each product was worth ~$25-$35.00. I noticed that when Boxycharm includes a luxury product within a box, the other products are more likely to be duds.
Believe it or not, I literally smiled as I wrote this post. I felt so happy with the box contents this month. I am genuinely excited to try each of the products. I will be keeping everything! [Edit – 6/22/20: I decluttered the Too Faced Highlighter after trying it one time. Ultimately it was too pink for me.]

But was the January 2020 Boxycharm too good to be true….
With all the above praise being said, deep down, I am skeptical as to why I received such an amazing box this month. In previous months, I usually received one or two of the products featured in the monthly ads and sneak peaks.
My attempt to cancel my subscription feels like the reason why I received all of the most-desirable products this month. When attempting to cancel Boxycharm, the service prompted me multiple times to keep my subscription. After pushing past the first “are you sure you wan’t to cancel” prompt, I saw a sneak peak of the featured items in this month’s box.
All in all, at this point I am still undecided if I will renew my subscription. Stay tuned for next month’s unboxing to see what I decide!

lol its been a rollercoaster, but I wanted to be sure to give this subscription service a fair shot before I really made my ultimate decision.
I actually enjoyed my boxycharm box as well. Are you upgrading yours to premium? I actually really prefer the luxe box out of them all.
I considered premium / am still considering it, but at the same time, I am also considering cancelling. I have such a large collection and haven’t loved all the boxes I’ve received. I may decide to give premium a go and then if I don’t like that I would ultimately cancel.
I wish that I could sign up for BoxyLuxe without needing a Boxycharm subscription and would do that as a seasonal sub box if that were an option. Maybe I’ill consider doing a Boxyluxe upgrade in the future!
I’ve never tried Boxycharm (pretty sure we can’t get it in the UK) but I can’t believe you managed to get all of this for $25, that’s amazing! Seems like one of the best value subscription boxes for sure x

Boxycharm had always intrigued me because of the way subscribers receive full size products rather than samples! This box has been my favorite one so far.

This looks like such a great box; that’s awesome that it included a lot of brands/products that you wanted to try! Also, it’s funny that you received all of these really good products after attempting to cancel…hopefully that’s not the case, but I wouldn’t be surprised haha.
Oooh! I love that you got a lot of really nice beauty products from this month’s box. There is a good mix happening and big plus that the price tag is well worth it! These boxes are perfect to try out new brands without having to commit to the full size. Even though this is one of the few times you received a box you really liked, hope the future ones are just as great or better!!

This was such a cool concept that everything was full-sized! Great for anyone just getting into makeup!
I could NOT pass this box up when I got the e-mail spoilers. I know we already talked a bit about it but, I will be so disappointed if I get some duds in my box. The eyeshadow palette looks so fun & the TF highlighter is sooo pretty! I do kind of want that Dr. Brandt eye cream that was another option, too.
I can’t wait to hear your opinions on everything, especially the mascara & Wander Beauty palette. Also, looking forward to seeing if you decide to keep or cancel your sub after Feb.
