The Best ColourPop Monochromatic Palette Ranking April 11, 2020
ColourPop Palettes are like chips: it is impossible to have just one. ColourPop makes some of the most affordable and high-quality eyeshadow formulas on the market. But are all of the Monochromatic Palettes just as good? In today’s post, I will be sharing my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette ranking. Stay tuned for mini reviews and tons of swatches!
ColourPop Monochromatic Palette Collection Ranking
8 | ColourPop Uh-Huh Honey | $12.00, CF
The ColourPop Uh-Huh Honey was arguably the Summer 2019 Palette and easily the most hyped monochromatic 9-Pan palette in the range. Are these yellow shadows impressive? Heck yeah.
However, yellow is not the most “wearable” everyday color and the depth of colors in the palette is not that expansive. Also, I am not a fan of pressed glitters. For these reasons, Uh-Huh Honey takes the lowest spot in my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette collection ranking.

7 | ColourPop Blue Moon |$12.00 USD, CF
I surprised myself with the standing of my Blue Moon Palette in my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette Collection Ranking because I have an intense love of blue shadows.
Unlike the other palettes on this list, I IMMEDIATELY purchased the Blue Moon palette upon release. Like many of the other palettes in this range, the range of blue and silver tones in this palette was curated well.
The above being said, I do not wear vibrant blue eyeshadow everyday or even every week. For this reason, Blue Moon ranks lower in my collection.

6 | ColourPop Orange You Glad? | $12.00, CF
When Orange You Glad? promotional images first released I was not impressed by this palette. Orange-toned palettes have been popular for years.
However, once I saw YouTubers using this orange-toned palette, I fell in love. U had to buy this bad boy. The undertones and depth in this palette make it easy to create tons of warm, orange looks. The colors range from neutral to vibrant depending on the intensity of application.

5 | ColourPop Smoke Show (now: Blowing Smoke) | $12.00, CF
Originally, I had no intention to purchase the Smoke Show Palette because I already owned the Lime Crime Venus Immortalis Palette. However, I was let down with the performance of the Immortalis Palette.
Still obsessed with the smokey color story, I was on the hunt for a similar palette that would perform better. The Smoke Show Palette is the smokey, grey palette of my dreams.

4 | ColourPop Ooh La La! | $12.00, CF
Ooh La La! is my fourth favorite 9-Pan ColourPop Palette. The range of colors and pink undertones included in this palette is cohesive yet diverse in range. I can create a ton of unique looking eyeshadow looks with this one pink palette.

3 | ColourPop Going Coconuts |$12.00 USD, CF
When the Going Coconuts palette was released, I thought this palette looked beyond boring. I could not understand the hype surrounding this soft, neutral monochromatic ColourPop palette.
In an attempt to understand the hype, I ordered the Going Coconuts Palette during a major ColourPop sale. I expected that I’d like this palette, but that it wouldn’t be anything special.
But damn.
Going Coconuts is an easy, everyday palette that enables people to create soft glam looks for day or evening. Each shadow is pigmented, without being overpowering and blends with ease. The shimmer shadows are ultra-foiled, whether applied with a dry brush or finger.
Within my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette collection ranking, Going Coconuts knocked Ooh La La from its high-ranking third place spot.

2 | ColourPop Main Squeeze |$12.00 USD, CF
Of the 9-Pan monochromatic ColourPop palettes, the Main Squeeze Palette was the only palette I purchased that I remember legitimately disliking before purchasing. Clearly I had a change of heart.
After purchased Main Squeeze, I quickly grew to love this palette. Main Squeeze is a very monochromatic, mid-tone palette that typically creates looks with a similar vibe. However, these are some of the most beautiful and vibrant red shadows that I own.
10/10 recommend Main Squeeze to red eyeshadow fiends who are looking for high-quality affordable options.

1 | ColourPop It’s My Pleasure | $12.00, CF
Without a doubt, ColourPop’s monochromatic purple palette, It’s My Pleasure, is my favorite 9-pan palette from the brand. I love the range of purple-toned colors in this palette. I can create a variety of looks ranging from soft and sweet to dramatic and smokey.
Since purchasing this purple palette, It’s My Pleasure has rained supreme as my favorite with my ColourPop Monochromatic palette collection ranking.

Note: During ColourPop’s most recent 9-Pan Palette Sale, I picked up a few of the ColourPop Monochromatic Palettes – Lilac You A Lot, Mint to Be, and Proceed with Caution. I have yet to use these palettes enough to feel comfortable ranking them.
Final Thoughts on my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette Collection Ranking
There are few affordable brands on the market that create eyeshadow palettes that are as high quality as ColourPop for the price. There are even fewer brands that are as on top of trends and are as fast-moving as ColourPop.
That being said, ColourPop Palettes are dangerous because of how frequently the brand releases new collections. Lately, it feels like so many of the brand’s releases are dupes of previous releases.
Do I love the ColourPop palettes that I own? I sure do.
But after being in love with the brand for so long, I’ve had to take a step back to think more critically about each new release as they come out. Within my ColourPop Monochromatic Palette collection ranking, I legitimately love each palette despite using some palettes more frequently than others.
Despite my critics of the brand’s launch cycle, I recommend ColourPop to any makeup beginners or anyone one a budget. ColourPop makes it so easy for anyone to love makeup and keep up with the latest trends.

I’ve seen these everywhere and always wondered if they lived up to the hype. The orange one looks right up my street, but that final aesthetic photo makes me want them all too!

These are such affordable, high quality palettes and there is def one for everyone’s preferences!! the orange one is super fun for summer & fall due to the range in tones!
These palettes are stunning! I must say that the Orange You Glad and the Going Coconuts are my favorite from the list. If I were to purchase a palette from this list I would go with the Orange You Glad One. I love the shades!!! Thanks for sharing.
Much love always,

OOO those are both super fun ones!! It was really tricky trying to rate these palettes – ultimately I think it all boils down to what colors you enjoy wearing!
You know I have a soft spot for the yellow one but I have to say, the purple one looks amazing too!
Purple is one of my favorite eyeshadow colors to wear – even though I rarely wear purple clothing lol. The purple one was my first monochromatic ColourPop palette, but still remains my favorite!!
Normally is one of my favourite too but lately I’ve been having this thing with red you know? I have to shoot a look tomorrow and I don’t want it to be another red look but it will probably be ahah
You have such an amazing collection! I want that purple one next, it’s a beauty and I just love anything purple xo
Gemma | Makeup Muddle
The purple palette is such a beautiful palette and the range / depth of colors makes it super easy to make a wide range of purple looks that all look unique!
I love It’s my Pleasure too. It’s a great stand alone palette. Some people like all purples but I think a good palette should have all the colors you can use in a look and make many looks with. Main squeeze is a bit too much reds for me, you pull it off with your eye looks though. Love the swatches
It’s My Pleasure was the very first monochromatic palette that I got from ColourPop and it remains one of my favorite today. I completely agree that it is important to have a range of colors that you can use to create multiple kinds of looks!
Totally fair that Main Squeeze is too red – it def has a very, very strong mid-tone red color story. And thank you so much!!! <3
I love the It’s My Pleasure one the colours are so gorgeous! I can definitely see why it’s your favourite!
It really is a pretty one – but as long as you like the color story, I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of these!
It’s My Pleasure is BEAUTIFUL and it looks like you can create a ton of varied looks with it. However, if I purchase one I’ll probably go with Main Squeeze because it’s more monochrome. I like Orange You Glad better but it’s too similar to other shades I already have. Thanks for making this– it really did help influence my decision!
It’s My Pleasure really is such a stunner!! Main Squeeze is such a gem. I can’t believe how harshly I judged this palette before picking it up… and now its one of my favorites lol!
Oh my – I fell in love with the blue palette! I also love Going Coconuts, I don’t have it just yet but it’s going to be mine someday! I just tried the California Love palette and I definitely forgot how much I love Colourpop’s palettes!
ahhh the California Love Palette is always one that dances in and out of my cart, but I remember seeing your swatches on your IGS swatches and they looked amazing! The blue palette is so fun – the only reason it is rated lower is due to the fact that I don’t use it as frequently as the others lol!
I really really appreciate the flatlay pic of all of them together haha it makes me so happy for some reason! If I were to start wearing eye shadow I’d pic either Orange You Glad or Going Coconuts, I feel like I’d want to wear something not too bright and bold and I feel like some of the tones in those palettes would work well with my somewhat tanned skin! It’s My Pleasure appeals to my love of glittery stuff but in reality I may not wear that often HAHA!! They are all soo pretty!!
LOL seeing the palettes all in one shot is def giving me rainbow vibes which I’m loving!! Ooo both those palettes would look gorgeous on you!!
I am totally surprised to see the blue palette so low on your list, I know how much you love the shade but, your reasoning makes sense. The Orange You Glad & Ooh La La swatches grabbed my attention most. I see what you mean about Main Squeeze’s shades being a bit too similar to each other but, phew, they are def vibrant! It’s My Pleasure doesn’t seem as monochramtic as the other palettes to me. What was the main shade?? Will you be updating this post once you feel comfortable with your new palettes?! Would be curious to see where they ranked. 🙂
Yes def – I need to add more of the palettes into the ranking. Ooh La La & It’s My Pleasure were the first two palettes in the collection (which is why they’re less monochromatic than the rest). It’s My Pleasure is actually a dupe for the Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions palette!!
