Hello, friends! As an eyeshadow palette lover, I knew I needed to share my responses to Samantha March and Allie Glines’ Eyeshadow Palette Tag.

Wonder what palettes are worth the hype and which palettes were let downs? Please keep reading for my answers to the Eyeshadow Palette Tag!

The Eyeshadow Palette Tag Questions

ColourPop x The Mandalorian The Child Palette

Newest palette: ColourPop x The Mandalorian The Child Palette

Let’s be real – I buy a lot of eyeshadow. At the point when this post is going live, some new palettes are en-route to my home. With that said, ColourPop x The Mandalorian The Child Palette is the newest to literally enter into my collection.

As a huge Disney and Star Wars fan, there was no doubt in my mind that this palette would be mine. I mean, how cute is this!?

Pardon the old photo – this was literally taken years ago!

Oldest palette: Urban Decay Naked

Purchased in 2010, the original Urban Decay Naked Palette is the oldest product in my makeup collection. This golden-neutral palette was my go-to palette throughout high school. To this day, I still vividly remember applying this each morning before school.

Pat McGrath x Star Wars

Most expensive palette: Pat McGrath x Star Wars Decadence Palette

Technically, my Natasha Denona Lila* and Gold Palettes* are the most expensive palettes in my collection. At full price, both products retail for $129 each. However, I purchased both palettes at a steep discount.

When factoring in the amount I paid, my Pat McGrath Palettes are the most expensive in my collection. Both the Pat McGrath x Star Wars Decadence Palette and Divine Rose II Palettes were purchased at full price ($129).

e.l.f. Truffles & Rose Water Bite Size Palettes

Most affordable palette: e.l.f. Bite Size Palettes

At $3.00, the e.l.f. Bite Size Palettes are easily the most affordable palettes in my collection. These palettes are such incredible quality for the price. If you’re curious about which of these palettes is my favorite – check out my affordable palette ranking!

Dose of Colors Baked Browns Palette

Everyday palette: Dose of Colors Baked Browns

The Dose of Colors Baked Brown eyeshadow palette is a staple in my everyday makeup routine. I constantly reach for this palette when I’m using another palette that lacks a transition shade or when a look needs more depth.

Stacey Marie x bPerfect Carnival III Love Tahiti Palette

Most colorful palette: bPerfect Cosmetics x Stacey Marie Carnival III Love Tahiti Palette

The bPerfect Cosmetics x Stacey Marie Carnival III Love Tahiti Palette* is easily the most colorful palette in my collection. This 40-pan palette contains a rainbow range of bright pops of colors.

Close up of Fenty Beauty Deep Neutrals Palette

Smallest palette: Fenty Beauty Deep Neutrals Snap Shadow Palette

The Fenty Beauty Snap Shadow Palettes are palm-sized 6-pan palettes that can be used alone or snapped together. Although my elf Bite Size Palettes are technically smaller, my Deep Neutrals Snap Shadow Palette* is a close runner up. Read my in-depth review on the Fenty Beauty Deep Neutrals Snap Shadow Palette.

Biggest palette: Adept Cosmetics Single Shadow Holder

At this point during the eyeshadow palette tag, most YouTubers pull out their gigantic Morphe Palettes. However, I’ve never been a fan of the brand. Therefore, I have none to show.

Instead, my largest palette is technically my large Adept Cosmetics Palette. This single shadow booklet holds the bulk of my single shadows. However, in terms of pre-made palettes, the bPerfect x Stacey Marie Carnival Love Tahiti Palette* and the NYX Ultimate Utopia Palette* are my largest palettes. Both contain 40 shades.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Palette with the best memory: Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam

My Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette is go-to eyeshadow for special events like concerts and weddings, etc. I always reach for this beautiful neutral palette when I want to look pretty, without looking over-the-top. In fact, I wore this palette when I went to the Jonas Brothers reunion tour LOL.

See where the Soft Glam palette ranks in my Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette Ranking.

Amor Eterno Muerte Palette, Illuminacion Highlighter, Fortuna Gel Liner, Santos Gel Liner

Palette worth the hype: Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Muerte Palette

The Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno collection was easily the most hyped release from the 2019 holiday season – for good reason. This Dia De Los Muertos-inspired collections was one of the most authentic releases of 2019. To hear me rave about this palette check out my in-depth review of the collection or this review ranking all of my Melt Palettes.

Palette not worth the hype: Kylie Cosmetics Sailor Pressed Powder Palette

When I saw the initial promotional photos for the Kylie Cosmetics Sailor Collection, I gasped at how classically pretty the color story looked. The light neutrals with pops of rich blues and red spoke to me. However, the quality of the eyeshadow shocked me in the worst way. Read my full review on the Kylie Cosmetics Sailor Pressed Powder Palette.

Instead of picking up the Sailor Palette, check out my all-time favorite Kylie Cosmetics products in my High Glosses review with swatches.

Huda Beauty New Nude Palette

Favorite palette from a favorite brand: Huda Beauty New Nude

A huge part of me wanted to mention my ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette.* However, I’ve raved about this palette in so many posts – from my original review to my 2019 Beauty Favorites, etc.

Instead, I’d rather shine a light on my favorite palette from Huda Beauty: New Nude.* Not only do I receive tons of compliments when I wear looks created with with palette, but I just feel super soft and pretty. Easily one of the best palettes from the brand and an all-time favorite in my collection. Check out my review of the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette.

Can you tell how much I love this brand? 🙂

Most used palette: Persona Cosmetics Identity Palette

By now most of you know that I am a Persona Cosmetics *stan,* so it should come to no surprise to see my beloved Identity Palette* featured in this eyeshadow palette tag. This little neutral palette looks like its taken a beating, but it is just so well loved. For my in-depth thoughts, check out my Identity Palette review.

I own nearly every product from Sona Gasparian‘s indie makeup line – and I’ve reviewed most of the items on this blog. For more on Persona, check out my review of the Season One Liquid Lipsticks and Glosses.

New to Persona Cosmetics? Please consider using my referral link for 15% off your first purchase. If you make a purchase I will receive 5% cashback for the sale, but please know that I’ve been purchasing from Persona long before I had a code. I would never recommend products I didn’t truly love.

*In her response to the Eyeshadow Palette Tag, Jessica Braun added two additional questions that fit perfectly within the tag theme.*

An under-hyped palette: Sigma Beauty Cor de Rosa Palette

The Sigma Beauty Cor de Rosa palette is easily one of the prettiest releases of 2020. However, this beautiful, coral palette was released during the midst of the lockdown, so it never got the attention it truly deserved. Read my Sigma Beauty Cor de Rosa Palette review.

ColourPop x Kathleen Lights Dream St Palette

Loved limited edition palette: Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Palette

LOL everything in me wanted to show the Master by Mario Palette; however, I need to stop talking about this palette since I no longer own it.

The Kathleen Lights Dream St. Palette is one of my all-time favorite palettes from ColourPop. The color story is just so effortlessly pretty for everyday. Sadly, this palette was finally discontinued in 2020. See it ranked in my ultimate ColourPop Palette ranking.

Final Thoughts on the Eyeshadow Palette Tag

In fully transparency, I struggled answering some of the prompts in the I the Eyeshadow Palette Tag. First, most of my “older,” more heavily used have long been decluttered. Second, I’ve been trying so many formulas over the course of the last two years so there are few palettes that I use regularly. At the end of the day, I only own one face.

Also, I realized that there are so many limited edition releases in this roundup. In general, I wish that brand would move away from these types of releases because they encourage FOMO and cause so many of us to buy repeat shades. Plus, I feel guilty featuring products that I love that I know others can no longer purchase. Read more about my thoughts on whether Limited Edition makeup releases are scams.

Ultimately, the eyeshadow palette tag made me realize that I need to (1) slow down how many palettes I purchase and (2) declutter some of palettes that I currently own.

P.S. hopefully we can all view these photos and appreciate the *glow up* my flat lays have had since I first started this blog back in 2018. Hopefully, you can tell which photos are newer and which ones are quite old. Hah!
