A Bomb TrendMood Box Volume 3 Unboxing & Review March 10, 2020
2019 was the year that I gave beauty subscription boxes another chance. I chronicled my experience trying Boxycharm for a year but ultimately decided to end my subscription. So how did I end up here trying yet another beauty box? Keep reading for my thoughts on the TrendMood Box Volume 3.

Who is TrendMood?
With just over 1.5 million followers, the @TrendMood1 is one of the most popular beauty Instagram accounts on the platform. Known for sharing breaking beauty news, new releases, and swatches, TrendMood is the go-to place for beauty addicts to learn about the latest new releases.
Run by mastermind, Sophie Shab, TrendMood’s Instagram posts boast a high engagement rate due to her dedicated audience of beauty fanatics waiting to rave or roast the latest new releases. Moreover, her posts often serve as inspiration for the popular “Will I Buy It?” or “New Makeup Releases” series popularized on YouTube.
In addition to TrendMood’s beauty news account, she runs a second Instagram account called @TrendMoodDeals where she posts about currents sales as well as her discount codes.
What is the TrendMood Box?
The TrendMood Box is a curated collection of 4-5 new beauty releases from hot makeup, skincare, haircare, and accessories brands. In fact, some featured items have been exclusive launches to TrendMood.
In other words, buyers of the TrendMood box were able to receive new releases before they hit the market. To date, each box has contained full-sized beauty products only.
Check out the @TrendMood.Box Instagram to learn more about the previous two boxes, as well as to get some sneak peeks for Volume 4. Keep reading for my honest thoughts on the TrendMood Box Volume 3.
What came in the TrendMood Box Volume 3?
The TrendMood Box Volume 3 came with 9 full-sized items that included a mix of skincare and makeup, as well as drugstore/affordable products and prestige products. The inclusion of more affordable items is likely what drove the item count up.

What is in the TrendMood Box Volume 3 roundup?
Boscia – Vitamin B12 Hydration Booster Serum | $46.00
When I was in high school and undergrad, Boscia’s Lumizing Black Mask* was a holy grail skincare product. However, it wasn’t until later in my collegiate experience and post-university period when I started to invest in prestige skincare.
As soon as I saw TrendMood’s posts featuring Boscia’s new serums, I was transfixed. The Vitamin B12 Hydration Booster* interested me because B12 is a powerful vitamin that is good for the body. As a skincare ingredient B12 promises to add hydration, even skin tone, improve dullness and aid in boosting circulation for healthy, glowing skin.
Other powerhouse ingredients included in this serum include Squalane, Apricot Kernal, Sweet Almond, and Jojoba Seed Oil.
The Vitamin B12 Hydration Booster is Vegan.
Boscia – Vitamin C with Caviar Lime Booster Serum | $46.00
The Boscia Vitamin C with Caviar Lime Booster Serum* is intended to exfoliate and smooth uneven texture to provide healthy, radiant skin. This Gluten-Free and preservative-free serum is formulated with Vitamin C, Caviar Lime, Jojoba, Willowherb. The Vitamin C serum is Vegan and free of artificial fragrance and colors.
As someone with the remnants of acne spots and texture, I am hopeful that this serum will help reduce hyperpigmentation and scarring. Additionally, this serum contains Astaxanthin which is known for protecting against free radicals and photo-aging skin.
Note: Boscia claims that it is Cruelty-Free on its website; however, I am unclear if this brand sells in China. As such, I am not labeling these products as Cruelty-Free. Check out Cruelty-Free Beauty 101 to learn more about Cruelty-Free beauty standards.

e.l.f. – Luminous Putty Primer, Matte Putty Primer, and Poreless Putty Primer | $8.00 each, CF
In 2019, I had so much trouble getting my hands on the Poreless Putty Primer* from e.l.f. This affordable dupe to the luxurious Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer was out of stock online and in-stores for months.
In fact, the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer was so popular that I considered it to be one of the releases that defined the 2010s. Check out what other bomb products defined the last decade.
As an avid fan of the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer, I have been itching to try the Poreless Putty Primer. In 2020, e.l.f. expanded its range of putty primers to include luminous and matte putty primers. I am ecstatic to have the chance to try all three variations.
Glow Recipe – Watermelon Glow Lip Pop | $22.00, CF
Glow Recipe is one of the hottest indie beauty brands sold at Sephora. This US-based, K-Beauty brand is known for its beloved Watermelon Sleep Mask*.
When I saw the Watermelon Glow Lip Pop* teased on Instagram I was curious about this pink balm. It promises to be a no-rinse, scrub-to-balm formula that adds hydration while still adding a pop of color to the lips.
This balm contains watermelon extract, Vitamin E, and flower-driven AHA to moisturize and smooth the lips.
Good Molecules – The Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches | $18.00, CF
Fun fact: I currently own 90% of the products in the Good Molecules skincare line. During December, I made a big Beautylish order of cult favorite products from this incredibly affordable, Cruelty-Free line.
The Caffein Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches come with 30 pairs of under-eye patches. Also, each tub contains a clear plastic spatula to separate and pick up the patches.
These patches promise to help energize and firm the skin, reduce puffiness, and provide a more youthful appearance. The patches promise to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while brightening dark circles and moisturizing the delicate under-eye area.
The promise of the Caffeine Energizing Eye Patches seems perfect for this sleep-deprived college student. I am hopeful that these patches will reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles and wrinkles!
Juvia’s Place – The Berries Palette & The Violets Palette| $13.99 each, CF
Juvia’s Place makes one of my favorite eyeshadow formulas. Not only are Juvia’s Place eyeshadows affordable, but they are the definition of pigmented. Despite the insane pigmentation, these shadows are still easy to blend.
When Juvia’s Place released four curated, mini 6-pan palettes I was immediately intrigued. As someone with a large collection who often needs palettes that are easy to apply early in the morning before work, the new 6-pan palettes caught my attention.
Although I would not have sought out the Berries Palette* on my own, the Violets Palette* was at the top of my list to try. I have yet to try a Juvia’s Place Palette that I didn’t enjoy using.

I was genuinely thrilled at the chance to try every product included in the Trendmood Box Volume 3. Each of these products was things that I wanted to try anyway, but I am now able to try at a steep discount.
Total Value of the TrendMood Box Volume 3: $183.98
Cost of the TrendMood Box Volume 3: $42.00
How do you Purchase the TrendMood Box?
Unlike traditional beauty box subscriptions, the TrendMood Box is not a subscription service. Each box drops as a standalone launch and once it sells out, it’s gone. Launch dates and times for new boxes vary, as does the price.
Each TrendMood box is available in extremely limited quantities. In fact, each TrendMood box has sold out in less than 5 minutes of launching online. Eager buyers should feel encouraged to sign up for TrendMood’s email list to receive early access codes.
Given the limited quantities available, buyers are only able to purchase one TrendMood box at a time. Also, purchases of the TrendMood box are limited to the US. Shipping is free across the contiguous United States. Click here to read more about the TrendMood Box.
What was my Experience Ordering the TrendMood Volume 3 Box?
Ordering the TrendMood Box Volume 3 was one of the most stressful experiences. In fact, ordering the ColourPop x Sailor Moon palette was the only time I’ve felt a greater amount of stress.
After missing out on the TrendMood Box Volume 2, I decided to sign up for the TrendMood Box email list so that I’d have access to the pre-sale. Additionally, I set an alarm on my phone to remind me of the launch time.
Ten minutes before the pre-sale launch, I opened two browsers – one on my desktop and one on my laptop. Roughly 3 minutes before the launch time, I anxiously refreshed my browser to see if the items launched early. However, nothing launched early.
As soon as the TrendMood Box Volume 3 dropped, I rushed to add the box to my cart. Strangely, my payment kept getting denied. By the time I made it to the check out screen, the TrendMood Box Volume 3 presale stock sold out.
However, I was determined to try again. To help expedite the process for the official launch, I got my payment set up ahead of time. As soon as the TrendMood Box Volume 3 dropped to the masses, I quickly added the item to my cart and checked out.
Would I buy another TrendMood Box?
After my experience with the TrendMood Box Volume 3 I am very likely to purchase another TrendMood box. Not only are these boxes an amazing value, but these boxes include *new* releases.
Buyers aren’t getting products made in different factories than normal nor are they getting products with different formulations. Most importantly, buyers aren’t getting old stock that isn’t moving.
Unlike traditional subscription services, buyers are not locked into monthly charges nor are there surprises in what comes in each box. Buyers know exactly what is coming in each TrendMood box prior to purchasing. As a result, the chance of products being “duds” or being wasted is lessened.

Oooo great unboxing and review hun! I feel silly to say that I’ve actually never heard of this before! I must have been living under a rock lol 🙂 It has some really great brands and products in it though so no wonder you said you’d buy it again x

TrendMood is big in the beauty community but isn’t as well known in the mainstream world. However, her box is the best in my opinion bc of the retail value and the newness of the product featured. Nothing is leftover products or overstock.
The Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel is one that I’m super curious how you liked it?
I’m getting to that point in life that I desperately need something just “ focused” on my eye area! This chick is tired 😴
I actually haven’t tried the patches yet …. LOL I’ve been too tired at night. The irony right?? hahaha
Ha! Isn’t that the way!
What an amazing box – I’m so jealous! Those Juvia’s Place palettes look unreal. I love the Poreless Putty Primer and I bet you’ll love it too. I can’t say whether it’s a good dupe for that Tatcha Silk Canvas as I’ve not tried it but it’s such a good primer for the price
I’m really, really excited to compare those to products. There are many similar ingredients in the e.l.f. primer, BUT I suspect there isn’t as many longterm skincare benefits. But not everyone needs that, ya know??
Also, I know that Simone just tried ordering the newest box using her special shipping system, so if you’re ever interested enough that could be an option for you lol!!!
I loved your thorough review of the box! I wish I could’ve gotten this box too. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the products.
This box sounds good especially because you don’t need to pay monthly!
This is honestly such a good box – the only con is the craziness that ensues trying to get this!
Yeah I can imagine a lot of people want to get their hands on it!
This is a NICE box, LP, and I love what’s “different” about it versus other boxes. Loved your pictures and thoughts, too. Gorgeous colors.
Ooo man, that Boscia booster serum sounds like a dream. I just hate brands that claim to be cruelty-free when they still to China though so I’m really hoping they don’t. 😭 That’s crazy they sent you all 3 of the e.l.f. putty & 2 Juvia’s palettes! I need to try their eyeshadow sometime, it sounds so good!
& wow, how quickly these boxes sell out is nuts. I am guessing the time your card got denied was because they had already sold out but not updated the site right away! Awesome job snagging this one though! I’ve been subbed to their e-mails since you told me about them. I got one recently saying they’re about to drop another box, right? Or did it already get released? Curious if you got it or not!
Thanks for sharing with us, LP! ♡
GIRL – they’re about to drop another box on July 7th with a TON of killer products in it. Legit, its going to be like the hunger games trying to get a box lol!
Milani, Lily Lashes, Nabla, Marc Jacobs, Makeup Eraser!
Ahhh! Exciting! I’m gonna go look at it now. 😝 I hope you’re able to get it if you try to! ♡
