Bold Bullet Lipstick Ranking
Red Bullet Lipsticks
6 | ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix – I’m Upset ($5.00, CF) – now discontinued
I’m Upset is a beautiful, vibrant color, but I never reach for my ColourPop Lippie Stix. Like many of the ColourPop Lippie Stix to follow in this post, I’m Upset was discontinued in 2019-2020.
5 | Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Vice Lipstick – Rocksteady ($18.00, CF) – now discontinued
For whatever reason, I never reach for my Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Lipstick in the shade Rocksteady. The color is beautiful, but it gets lost in my collection. Ultimately, I decluttered this lipstick later in 2020 after realizing it had badly expired.

4 | NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick – Fire Down Below ($32.00)
NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade Fire Down Below* is a classic in my collection. In fact, discovering this shade made me realize that I could wear red lipstick without looking like a crime.
Sadly, as my collection grew, I stopped reaching for this shade as much. Eventually in 2020, I decluttered this lipstick after realizing that it expired. However, I am planning to repurchase the shade in the future.
3 | Il Makiage x Carli Bybel Dirty Talk Lipstick – Venus ($21.00, CF) – now discontinued
Carli Bybel & Il Makiage created a visually stunning, high-quality lipstick collection. The shade Venus is my go-to cool-toned red for classically glamorous looks. Sadly, this collection is no longer available.
2 | Bite Beauty Bespoke Amuse Bouche Lipstick – Whine ($60.00, CF)
Similarly to her sister, Rosee, I love my bespoke Bite Beauty Lipstick in the shade Whine. Of course I love it – I custom created this.
This brown-toned, red was difficult to make, but I feel special when I use this. Learn more about what to expect if you custom your own custom lipsticks at the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in LA. Also, read more about other clean makeup brands similar to Bite.
1 | Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Astrology Collection – Virgo ($26.00, CF) – now discontinued
Across the board, all of Bite’s Beauty’s products were discontinued in 2019 when the brand reformulated all of its products to be Vegan and certified Clean at Sephora. So sadly, my beloved red, Virgo, is no longer available.

4 | ColourPop Knew Idea – Fast As You ($5.00, CF) – now discontinued
Fast As You is a true fuschia color that makes the lips pop. Despite the cool undertone, I feel like this color makes my teeth look more yellow. For this reason, I don’t wear this as much as I should.
3 | ColourPop Knew Idea – I Ain’t Bad Atcha ($5.00, CF) – now discontinued
I Ain’t Bad Atcha is a BRIGHT orange. While the color is beautiful, sometimes this makes me feel self-conscious. Sometimes, the color makes my teeth look quite yellow.
My favorite bright lipsticks
2 | ColourPop x Disney Villains Creme Lux Lipstick – Maleficent ($8.00, CF) – now discontinued
This deep magenta shade from the ColourPop x Disney Villains collection is great for days when I want a bright, bold lip that is deeper in color. Check out my ColourPop x Disney Villains review for an in-depth review.
1 | Kylie Matte Lipstick – Paradise Please ($17.00, CF) – now discontinued
Honestly, should Kylie Cosmetics’ Paradise Please matte lipstick fall into my brights category? Despite the coral color, the shade is ultra-bright so this is a lipstick I reach for on days I want a bold lip look. Vampy Bullet Lipsticks
5 | ColourPop x Disney Villains Matte Lux Lipstick in Ursula ($8.00, CF) – now discontinued
Similar to other lippies in my collection, I thought I would reach for the Disney Villains Ursula Matte Lux Lipstick way more than I do. Ultimately, I don’t feel inspired to reach for this particular deep purple shade. In fact, I ended up giving this lipstick away to my sister.
Disney fans should check out my review of the ColourPop x Disney Designer Midnight Masquerade collection.
4 | Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick – Punked ($21.00, CF)
Punked* is a matte shade that I rarely reach for due to the unique gray color. Nevertheless, I love having this gray to play with on days when I want to feel like a badass.
My favorite vampy lipsticks
3 | MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipstick ($14.00, CF)
Is anyone surprised that I picked up the Ariana Grande Viva Glam Lipstick from a few years ago? Realistically, never reach for this lipstick. It is low-key expired. However, I hold onto this lipstick for sentiment reasons. I love how this vampy, purple color looks nearly black on the lips.

2 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Moshpit ($18.00, CF)
In terms of color, Urban Decay’s Moshpit is quite similar to Disturbed. However, the creme formula is slightly more comfortable on the lips. that being said, I actually prefer matte formulas for vampy lipsticks. I want a deep color like this to last all day without fading in weird places.
1 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Disturbed ($18.00, CF)
At the top of my vampy lipstick ranking is, of course,Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick in the shade Disturbed.* When I was in my early twenties, Disturbed was my go-to staple lip color. Nowadays, I reach for this more during the Fall and Winter now but still. Nevertheless, I still love this deep color. Check out my favorite fall-inspired eyeshadow palettes.

Final Thoughts on my Bold Bullet Lipstick Ranking
Ironing out my bold bullet lipstick collection was such a challenge. Similar to my nude bullet lipstick ranking, I realized that I accumulated too many lipsticks. Moreover, the shades I owned are just too similar.
Figuring out my lipstick collection ranking was challenging due to the sheer volume of lipsticks in my collection. I didn’t realize how out of hand my collection had become until I started to rank these lippies.
Finally, in doing my bold bullet lipstick ranking, I realized that I need to reduce the size of my vivid lipsticks. At the end of the day, I just don’t reach for these types of shades *enough* to justify owning so many within each color category.
