I may love colorful eyeshadows, but when it comes to lipsticks I love some basic AF nudes. However, in the beauty world nude lipsticks have traditionally gotten a bad reputation for failing to be inclusive. Today’s In today’s post, I’m ranking my nude bullet lipsticks – from the shades that are personally MLBB (my lips but better), to brown and pink-toned nudes.
MLBB Nude Bullet Lipsticks
A few favorite nudes in my lipstick collection ranking
7 | Kylie Cosmetics x Under the Sea Summer Collection Matte Lipstick – Beach Bum ($17.00, CF) – discontinued
The Kylie Cosmetics Beach Bum Matte Lipstick is my lowest ranked nude lipstick in my MLBB nude bullet lipstick ranking for two reasons. First, the peachy undertone sometimes looks sickly during the colder months. Second, the fragrance is overwhelming. Therefore, while I enjoy how this lipstick wears and lasts, the fragrance prevents me from reaching for this more often.

6 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Backtalk ($18.00, CF)
Technically Urban Decay’s Backtalk* is a mauve-pink shade. However, in my mind this color still qualifies as a MLBB nude. More mauve-toned and more matte than Urban Decay’s Liar, Backtalk used to be a staple in my beauty collection.
5 | Il Makiage x Carli Bybel Dirty Talk Lipstick – Libra ($21.00, CF)
First, we have to acknowledge the beautiful packaging for the Il Makiage x Carli Bybel Collection. Second, the formula is so comfortable and creamy, despite being matte. When paired with a deep brown-nude lipliner, I feel super confident.
However, similar to the lip liners in the collection, this lipstick almost feels too creamy. Sometimes the formula bleeds beyond the lip line.

4 | Bite Beauty Bespoke Amuse Bouche Lipstick – Rosee ($60.00, CF)
My Bespoke Bite Beauty Lipstick in Rosee is my baby. I had this MLBB pinky nude custom-mixed and created when I visited the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in Los Angeles.
3 | Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Matte Lipstick – Eartha ($24.00, CF)
The Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Matte Lipsticks are pigmented, creamy, and comfortable despite being a matte formula. Also, I love how each shade in the range is named after a badass woman of color. The shade Eartha* is like a sandy-brown nude.
2 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Liar ($18.00 USD, CF)
Until buying the below lipstick, the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in the shade Liar* was my all-time favorite nude. The Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks are highly underrated. P.S. I’m trying to pan this lipstick in 2020.
1 | MAC Cosmetics x Disney’s Aladdin Friend Like Me Lipstick ($20.00, CF) – discontinued
The MAC x Aladdin Friend Like Me Lipstick quickly my ultimate MLBB lipstick. Not only is the amplified formula super creamy and comfortable, but the color is opaque. Moreover, I love how versatile the shade is on the lips. Specifically, this MLBB nude works with a wide variety of pink and brown lip liners and glosses.
Brown-Based Nude Bullet Lipsticks
5 | Bite Beauty Multi-Stick in Anise ($24.00, CF) – discontinued
I thought the Bite Beauty Multi-Stick in Anise would be a game-changing product in my collection. However, I don’t feel inspired to reach for this multi-use lip, cheek, and eye product. The quality is good, but the shade feels less tempting than others in my collection.
[Edit 6/2020: This lipstick finally expired in 2020, so I decluttered it.]
Brown Lipstick Collection
4 | ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick – Friends ($7.00, CF) – discontinued
The ColorPop Creme Lux Lipstick in the shade Friends is a dark brown that looks nearly black on my lips. As a result, I typically only reach for this shade during the colder months. However, the formula is lovely.
3 | ColourPop – Matte X Lippie Stix Thousand Percent ($5.00, CF) – discontinued
ColourPop’s Six Thousand Percent is an interesting reddish-brown color. At first, the color intimidated me, but I’ve grown to love this lippie stix.
2 | Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Lipstick – Angela ($24.00, CF)
Angela* is quite similar to Urban Decay’s 1993 but is a slightly richer color. When deciding the top spot, I had a hard time choosing between Angela and 1993.
1 | Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – 1993 ($18.00, CF)
If it weren’t already apparent from my MLBB nude lipstick ranking, I love the Urban Decay Vice formula. The shade 1993* is the perfect, grungy 90s brown. When it released, this grungy matte brown lipstick was out of stock everywhere for good reason.

Pink-Based Nude Lipsticks
9 | Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick – Primrose ($21.00, CF)
Smashbox’s Be Legendary Lipsticks are the products that helped me to realize that I could wear lipstick. Prior to discovering the Be Legendary formula, I always felt like lipsticks didn’t work on me.
Do I reach for Primrose* much? No – but it has a special place in my heart.
8 | Hourglass GRL Lip Stylo – Activist ($34.00, CF)
Honestly, I don’t reach for my Lip Stylo from Hourglass very often. Is the packaging gorgeous? Yes. Is the shade beautiful? Yes. But this Hourglass Lip Stylo product just gets lost in my collection since I store it with my lip crayons.
Think Pink: My favorite pink lipsticks
7 | Kylie – Endless Summer ($16.00, CF) – discontinued
Endless Summer is technically a coral-colored lippie. Nevertheless, I’m including it in my pink bullet lipstick ranking. I’m ranking this with my pinks. Despite being a metallic lipstick, Endless Summer is actually pretty wearable. However, the color lends itself better to warm, sunny weather than the colder months.
[Edit – 6/2020: I decluttered this lipstick because I only ever swatched it.]
6 | Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipstick – Madeline ($17.00, CF)
Fun fact: the Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipstick in the shade Madeline was the first Kylie product that I tried. Clearly, I still love it. This shade is a beautiful strawberry pink color.

2-5 | KKW Beauty Best of Pinks Set (Pink 5, Pink 6, Pink 1, Pink 2) ($65.00, CF)
After a lot of internal debate, I decided to rank my KKW Beauty Best of Pinks Set together. These lipsticks have become some of my most reached for bullet lipsticks. Not only is the formula super comfortable and ultra-pigmented, but there is a shade for every occasion.
However, if I were ranking solely by color, Pink 2 would be last in this ranking. I do not wear hot pink lipsticks often ever.
1 | Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Matte Lipstick – Maya ($24.00, CF)
Uoma Beauty’s Badass Icon Matte Lipstick in the shade Maya* is a beautiful nude pink. Despite being matte, the formula is comfortable and doesn’t dry out my lips.
Final Thoughts after Ranking my Nude Bullet Lipsticks
The sheer size of my collection made ranking my nude bullet lipsticks difficult. However, doing this ranking made me more self-aware that my lipstick collection spiraled out of control. Moreover, while the formulas differ, so many shades look nearly identical to one another.
Color-wise, I just love a good nude – whether MLBB, brown, or pink-based. More specifically, I tend to wear my MLBB or brown-based nude bullet lipsticks the most. However, I’m slowly learning to appreciate pink and peach nudes.
