This year I accumulated an insane amount of haircare from family and friends, as well as my Sephora Play! subscription. Therefore, I made a major effort to use up or donate the hair care in my collection. Amazingly, as of June 30th, I finished 17 products! Keep reading for my 2018 mid-year hair care empties roundup.

Mid-Year Hair Care Empties
LUSH – Retread Conditioner | Price: $32.95
Although I’ve purchased the Retread Conditioner from LUSH twice, I would not buy this conditioner again. While I love LUSH as a brand, this particular product was subpar. For example, it was too heavy to use as a daily conditioner, but not good enough to use as a hair mask. That being said, it is positive that this product did not irritate my incredibly sensitive scalp.
I would recommend this for people with dry, thick, coarse hair will need to use a conditioner like this multiple times a week. However, I this product was too expensive for how it performed on my thin hair.
RenPure – Coconut Cleansing Conditioner | Price: $6.00
The RenPure Co-Wash was a surprise hit. I purchased this product close to two years ago at T.J. Maxx. At the time, I wanted to try more ‘natural’ hair care products to use on my irritated scalp.
Honestly, at the time I purchased this product I did not realize it was a co-wash. Moreover, even if I had seen that it was a co-wash, it is unlikely I would have really understood what it was. That being said, I’m glad that I ended up purchasing this product.
I used the RenPure Cleansing Conditioner as a traditional conditioner and I loved it. The cleansing conditioner was moisturizing but did not weigh my hair down. Additionally, this conditioner lasted me over a year. Sadly, the particular product I purchased is no longer available on the RenPure website. However, I would certainly purchase more from this brand!
Moroccanoil – Moroccan Oil Treatment Deluxe Mini | Price: $15.00
Undoubtedly, the best thing about the Moroccanoil Treatment Mini* is the smell. Additionally, this hair oil worked well to add shine and tame frizz. However, due to the steep price tag, I am not planning to repurchase at this time.

Peter Thomas Roth – Mega Rich Shampoo & Conditioner
I discovered the Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Shampoo* & Conditioner* during a weekend getaway. Although these did their job at cleansing and conditioning my hair, I do not remember much about the performance aside from the fragrance. Therefore, I am unlikely to repurchase.
Verb – Leave-In Mist | Price: $8.00
Like the RenPure Co-Wash, the Verb Leave-In Mist* was another surprise hit. Had I not received this mini mist in a Sephora Play! box several years ago, I would have been unlikely to purchase this spray on my own.
I loved the way this leave-in mist detangled my hair without weighing it down or leaving it looking limp. To make this product work for my hair type, I sprayed the mist onto my hands after showering. Next, I gently worked it into my wet hair and combed through with a wide-tooth comb.
I would consider purchasing this product again in the future, but I am currently loving the Healthy Sexy Hair Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner* more.
Bumble & Bumble – BB Don’t Blow It | Price: $31.00
BB Don’t Blow It is another product that I received during my Sephora Play! Subscription, That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with this product. It helped to surprise frizz without making my hair look greasy or flat.
Given that BB Don’t Blow It is made for fine hair, I may purchasing this product in the future. However, given the climate where I live, I tend to blow dry my hair during the cold months. Therefore, I am unlikely to purchase again until 2019.
Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Over Night Styling Protector | Price: $29.00
I enjoyed the fresh smell of the Living Proof Ph.D. Over Night Styling Protector.* Again, I received this product through Sephora Play! The Ph.D. Over Night Styling Protector made my hair shinier and more manageable after blowdrying. Although I did not purchase this on my own initially, I would consider purchasing this product again in place of hair oil.
A lot of LUSH

I’ve already reviewed, the LUSH Bar Shampoos and LUSH I Love Juicy Shampoo in a previous post about my favorite haircare for sensitive scalps. Additionally, LOMA has a dedicated post here.
