This February marks the end of my 6-month subscription to Boxycharm. I felt a rush of nervous anticipation regarding the February 2020 Boxycharm box. Would this month’s box be compelling enough for me to resubscribe or would I finally unsubscribe from Boxycharm?
Was the February 2020 Boxycharm worth the $25.00 price tag? Please keep reading for my unboxing and thoughts on the February 2020 Boxycharm!

What was in the February 2020 Boxycharm Box?
Alamar Cosmetics – Complexion Brush Trio| $36.00, CF, Vegan
How beautiful are the Alamar Cosmetics Complexion brushes?! Not only do the orange-gold handles look so luxurious, but I love the variety in the brush shapes. This trio includes a fluffy brush, dense brush, and angled brush.
These synthetic brushes are Cruelty-Free and Vegan.
Ciate London – Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder | $22.00, CF, Vegan
The Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder promises to provide wearers with a long-lasting, crease-free, soft-focus finish to the skin without causing any flashback. I wish this product did not contain talc. Ny hope is to transition to talc-free loose setting powders moving forward, Nevertheless, I’ll use this powder.
The Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder is Cruelty-Free and Vegan.
KvD Vegan Beauty – Cake Pencil Liner | $20.00, CF, Vegan
Now that I am purchasing from KvD again, I the Cake Pencil Liner excited me. KvD’s Tattoo Liner is my all-time favorite liquid liner formula, so I am hopeful I’ll enjoy this liner!
The KvD Vega Beauty Cake Pencil Liner is Cruelty-Free and Vegan.
Pur Cosmetics – 4-In-1 Correcting Primer Energize & Rescue| $36.00, CF, Vegan
According to Pur, the 4-In-1 Energize & Rescue Correcting Primer* soothes and smoothes the skin. Also, it creates a smooth canvas. The primer is packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients from probiotics to coconut and aloe. I am curious to see how this performs compared to other brightening primers in my collection.
The Pur Cosmetics 4-In-1 Correcting Energize & Rescue Primer is Cruelty-Free and Vegan.
QMS Medicosmetics – Intensive Eye Cream | $135.00, CF
I gasped when I saw the price of the QMS Medicosmetics Intensive Eye Cream*. Undoubtedly, this is the most expensive eye cream that I have ever tried in my life. The price alone makes me curious to try this.
So Was the February 2020 Boxycharm Box Worth It?
Honestly, when I opened the February 2020 Boxycharm Box I rush of excitement. Then, a wave of disappointment followed. At first, I screamed internally when I saw the Alamar Cosmetics brushes in my box. I was in love with these brushes soon as I saw photos of them teased on the IndieMakeupSpotlight Instagram page.
However, once I looked at the sparse contents of my box, the initial excitement faded immediately. In fact, I literally exclaimed OMG WTF is this really it? This is THE most disappointing box that I’ve gotten!
Next, disappointment gave way for anger. I questioned the value of this month’s box. Already knowing the price ranges of the makeup-related products in this box, I set out to confirm my suspicion that the brand misrepresented the box value. However, I was shocked to realize that the tiny tub of eye cream in the February 2020 Boxycharm was worth $135.00.
I’ve said this in previous Boxycharm unboxing posts, but I take issue when Boxycharm includes one ultra high-value item in boxes. These supposedly luxurious products inflate the value of the box. In the end, I prefer to receive a mix of 5 mid-range products that I like as opposed to one high-end product (that I may or may not like) and a bunch of duds.
Rating: 2.5/5 Stars
So did I keep my Boxycharm subscription?
No. This month’s disappointing box convinced me to cancel my subscription (for the time being). At the end of the day, I own SUCH a large makeup collection. As such, it pains me to expand the size of my already massive collection with products that I feel lukewarm about.
Is Boxycharm bad? NO – not by any means. In fact, Boxycharm is one of the best beauty subscription box available. I am still blown away that they provide full-sized prestige beauty products to consumers at such a steep discount. Ultimately, Boxycharm is best for anyone who is just getting to makeup or skincare.
