IT Cosmetics Skincare Review | IT Skincare Classics November 27, 2018
I’ve never understood the hype that surrounds IT Cosmetics skincare. My disinterest could be attributed to snobbery or just a general sense of apathy towards this brand. Read my IT Cosmetics Skincare review.
Honest IT Cosmetics Skincare Review
When the opportunity arose for me to try IT Cosmetics skincare for free, I jumped on it. I genuinely want to understand why so many people rave about the brand. Therefore, I used some of my Sephora points to pick up the “IT Cosmetics – It’s Your Glow Getting Essentials” for 500 points. This kit contained:
- Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water*
- Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm*
- Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer*
- Bye Bye Under Eye – Eye Cream*
For the last month and a half, I’ve been meticulously trying out the aforementioned IT Cosmetics Skincare products. I am always looking to find the next great product to maintain my skin’s youthful glow or prevent the appearance of fine lines. Although great skincare doesn’t need to break the bank, I am willing to splurge if the products show results.
But are these IT Cosmetics skincare products worth the price? Let’s find out.

Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water
Claims: The Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water promises to help purify, balance and brighten the appearance of skin while diffusing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Also, as micellar water, the product promises to gently clean the skin, removing dirt and oil.
Application: For best application, dab some cleanser onto a cotton round. Gently pat all over the face. Do not rinse off after application.
Reality: The Miracle Water left my skin feeling refreshed and bright, living up to the product’s claim. That being said, I didn’t see any improvement with the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles.
Price: $38.00
Rad or Bad? While this was a rad product, I would not repurchase at this time. If I’m going to spend $38.00 on a Micellar Water, it better be the best I’ve ever tried.

IT Cosmetics Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water Deluxe Mini
Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm
Claims: The Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm promises to instantly remove makeup and purify the skin. Additionally, the balm promises to prevent signs of aging through a skin-softening serum that adds moisture back to the skin. Over time, this product will help ward off the effects of pollutants and other free-radicals responsible for early signs of aging. According to the website:
Perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive, Bye Bye Makeup™ takes it all off (without stripping)—and leaves your skin instantly hydrated and supple!
Application: This makeup remover is a true balm. While it is stiff at first, the product quickly melts in hands. For best application, apply a small amount to the face. Then, gently rub into the skin.
Reality: I didn’t have high hopes for this product when another blogger friend told me this broke her out. Without a doubt, this was one of the worst makeup removers I’ve ever used.
The balmy formula felt super thick on the skin. Additionally, it left a residue that made my skin feel greasy and caused breakouts. Therefore, this product is not perfect for all skin types, especially those with sensitive, oily skin.
Even after using charcoal masks and other strong cleansers, I couldn’t make this product work for me. Thus, I decided to toss it out.
Price: $38.00
Bad or Rad? The Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm was horrific for my sensitive skin. I would not repurchase. Also, only recommend this to individuals with severely dry skin.
Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer
Claims: The Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer promises to instantly transform and hydrate the skin. Also, it promises to fight the signs of aging with anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, licorice root, and vitamin C. Moreover, this product contains bioluminescence and diamond powder to give the appearance of a youthful glow.
Application: The Secret Sauce is best applied with clean hands onto a freshly washed face. Since this comes in a jar, this product is not totally suitable for sharing.
Reality: The Secret Sauce was another dud. Although I have oily skin, this product actually made my skin feel dry and dehydrated after a few weeks. Moreover, my skin started to look dull and my fine lines became more pronounced as a result of poor hydration.
Price: $68.00
Bad or Rad? Bad – I would never pay $68.00 for this moisturizer when there are better moisturizers at the drugstore for less than a third of the price.

IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce Cream
Bye Bye Under Eye – Eye Cream
Claims: Bye Bye Under Eye – Eye Cream promises to reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness. Also, this under eye cream promises to brighten dark circles, while preventing the signs of aging through powerful ingredients like caffeine, vitamin C, cucumber extract and peptides.
Application: This product comes in a jar and is best applied with fingers.
Reality: HOLY COW! This is the most amazing eye cream I’ve tried to date. [P.S. June 2020 LP still stands by this statement.] I saw results immediately after application.
In fact, I applied this cream under one eye and asked my boyfriend and family members whether they thought one eye looked any different than the other and their feedback was unanimous. The eye that I had applied Bye Bye Under Eye looked noticeably brighter and tighter.
However, for how amazing this product worked, it is not without its faults. Once I run out of my deluxe mini, I am unlikely to repurchase because the cream was too heavy for regular use under my eye. In fact, it made the milia (tiny bumps) under my eyes much worse. Additionally, I am unsure whether this product is actually treating my under eye wrinkles and dark circles, or if the cream merely contains ingredients that make my skin look brighter.
[June 2020 Me: I did end up repurchasing this eye cream. I determined that the eye cream was not causing Milia. Also, eye under eyes looked noticeably worse after I stopped using this cream! Since this review purchased at least two more full size jars. As a beauty reviewer, this is RARE.]
Price: $48.00

IT Cosmetics – Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream
IT Cosmetics Skincare Review Final Thoughts
I still have no clue what to make of this IT Cosmetics skincare. Although I enjoyed two of the products, The Miracle Water and Bye Bye Under Eye, I absolutely hated the two other products that came in my Sephora kit.
I’ve used drugstore products that performed better than two of these IT Cosmetics skincare products. Not all skincare needs a long list of fancy ingredients to perform well. However, sometimes, luxury skin care can provide a luxury experience. Based on this experience with IT Cosmetics skincare, I am unlikely to try another full-size product. However, I would be willing to try some small, deluxe size samples.
Since this review, I have tried more from the brand – and I’m glad that I did! No other brand has released an eye cream that I’ve loved as much as Bye Bye Under Eye.

I have never heard of It cosmetics before this post. I don’t use many products that aren’t 100% natural and based off your review it’s probably not the best products to try. I love your review because it covered all the questions one would have when purchasing a new product. Great job!

Thank you for your comment! 🙂 I’m hoping to transition to a more “clean” beauty routine over the next year, so while some of these products made my skin look better temporarily, I still prefer my Drunk Elephant skin care.
I’m glad you did this post, because I was looking into them. The prices just done seem worth it. I either hear awesome things or terrible things.
Thank you so much for your comment! I agree – the prices make it hard for me to recommend that someone try these products since I wasn’t totally wow’d.
Another brand I’ve not tried. Glad it’s a cruelty-free one though! Lovely, honest revieew!

Loved reading your thoughts on these, LP! I don’t use any of them except for the Bye Bye Undereye. I couldn’t live without it! I have terrible dark circles, and it has made a long term difference with mine, and I don’t have more pronounced milia.
I’m an IT girl for make-up. I could not live without all the make-up products, and they each have skincare built into them. I’ve tried so many things and I’ve never had the compliments on the “glow” I have with IT, and it doesn’t make my dry or oily areas worse. Have you ever tried the make-up? If you have something you like already, it’s no fun to switch though!
I haven’t tried any skincare products from IT Cosmetics but I’ve tried a few makeup products that I really like! ☺️

So curious – What products did you try?
I have the CC+ Illumination Cream, Cream Blush in Naturally Pretty, and the Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Serum! I actually have a review up if you’re curious! ☺️

Oh yes – I will check this out
Super comprehensive! I’ve never followed the hype around It Cosmetics, and their venture into skincare never interested me – especially when the prices are so high. If it comes up at Sephora, the eye cream has interested me enough to give it a try, but nothing else seems to be worth the try. Loved this post.

Thank you so much your comment Alex! 💜 The eye cream was definitely the standout product. They do sell these at Sephora, but I’m sure there are minis or freebies that will pop up again.
GODDAMN the prices….
I snorted at the $38 for micellar water…. I did hear good things about the under eye cream, but still… the price?
That brand isn’t available in Europe (except for the UK), so I’m not too frustrated about not being able to try it. And your review has hugely helped lol
If you’re looking for an amazing cleansing balm, check out Pixi’s Double Cleanse!
Great, no-bullshit review!

Thank you so much! ☺️
IT boasts so many great ingredients, but in the end, I didn’t find the products worth the price tag.
But if you are going to try something, the eye cream really was the most stand out product. But I’m not sure if it is actually helping my under eye or just masking the dark circles.
I need to check out Pixi more! I always hear good things about their skincare but I’ve yet to try anything.
It’s much more affordable, too!
interesting!
I was almost relieved to read your review of the eye cream- I was beginning to think you’d gotten nothing you enjoyed out of the kit! I suppose it’s better that you used points for it-hopefully it feels less wasteful than if you spent money on the products you didn’t like!
Thank you for your comment, Emily!! <3 I was glad I got to try these for free too! Had I spent my own money, I would have 100% returned everything (except the eye cream)!
Hey!
I’m so glad you did a review about these products. I’ve read about them but never from someone who tried it. Holy cow! The prices are insane! I’m glad I never bought it. I have a micellar water that I bought for 2€ and it works great! Never would I ever pay the IT Cosmetics prices.
Hmm… I need to check out Pixi… Never heard of it!
Christine xx
Thank you for your comment, Christine! 😀 When skin care is as expensive as IT Cosmetics, it really needs to do wonders for it to be worth the price point. I’m so glad that you found this helpful. I need to try Pixi, too!!
The price tag of these products is way out of my budget, but I would also gladly try it out if I got it for free. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Yes these products are expensive and largely not worth it! I’m glad I tried these for free!!
I love olay daily facial wips! Check them out.
