Application & Experience for Oily, Sensitive Skin
According to the IOPE website, this nourishing cream can be applied day or night. Additionally, it can be applied as a first step prior to layering another moisturizer. However, this cream may be worn as a standalone moisturizer. But what was my experience?
First, A Little Bit About My Skin
First, my skin has been oily and acne-prone skin my entire life. As a result, my skin has been exposed to countless harsh solutions and medications. Therefore, I never assumed my skin was sensitive. In fact, I’d say that my skin felt ‘durable.’ Moreover, neither fragrance nor astringents irritated my skin.
Over the last few years, I experienced a few incidences of major skin irritation to products. However, I experienced a particularly horrifying bout of eczema after bad reaction to Simple’s “Kind to Skin” Moisturizing Face Wash. Kind of ironic that the ”sensitive” skincare ”experts” products did this to me, huh?

In fact, the inflammation, lead to an eczema flare up that lasted months. As result, my naturally oily, plump skin became red, dry, flakey, and ”crusty.” Moreover, my skin looked and felt angry. It simultaneously hurt and itched. Also, it even felt like it was ”seeping” liquid during particularly bad flare up days.
As result, I’ve experienced extreme sensitivity to fragranced skincare products as well as ultra-thick creams. In fact, formerly tried-and-true products even cause reactions now!
And Now, About My Experience
First, I layered the IOPE Derma Gentle Cica Cream on top of my Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief in an effort to soothe and restore my skin. Texture-wise, the cream feels nourishing without feeling heavy or greasy.
Overall, the formula is moisturizing enough that I discovered that I could wear this cream alone. However, I could still apply a thicker cream overtop if needed.
Within 3 days of steady use each morning and the evening, my skin looked dewy, plump, less textured and wrinkled. Ultimately, my skin’s healthy glow returned.
Where is the Derma Gentle Cica Cream sold?
In the United States, the Derma Gentle Cica Cream is available at Aritaum and Glossybox.
Final Thoughts on the IOPE Gentle Cica Cream
Overall, I am obsessed with the IOPE Gentle Cica Cream due to the way that it helped to naturally restore the appearance of my stressed out skin. Also, the formula feels gentle and nourishing without feeling heavy.
After a summer full of tears, I am beyond happy to have the Cica Cream in my arsenal. Whenever I run out of this cream, I will pick up another tube. Additionally, I intend to purchase more from IOPE’s sensitive’s skincare range.
Finally, I wholeheartedly recommend this cream to anyone with super sensitive skin. All-in-all, this is an incredible product for soothing inflamed, irritated skin.
*Please note: although IOPE gifted this product to me for testing purposes, I was not required to write a dedicated blog post.

I’m so glad this helped to calm your eczema – my mum suffers from eczema really badly and its so horrible to see how painful her skin is during her flare ups. I’ve also got oily, acne prone skin that’s turned sensitive recently – I wonder if it’s a product of all the harsh treatments? Skipping out on fragrances on my face has worked miracles for me xx
Although I’ve had eczema elsewhere, I never experienced it on my face prior to this summer. So for me it’s hard to tell if my skin is truly sensitive or if it’s been sensitized due to my skin barrier being damaged. I had a super horrible reaction to a cleanser this summer that was the catalyst for my flare up.
Harsh products & fragrance can def be major culprits for irritation! So for skincare using fragrance-free products can really help!!
Def recommend this cream, as well as the Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief Cream to help calm inflammation on the face and to restore the skin’s barrier. 💜
Is it normal that I’m so excited this worked for you?! I can’t wait for you to be back with makeup reviews but more than that I want you to feel comfortable and confident again! Cheering for you here!
Thank you, girl! 💜 I know I said this earlier but it didn’t hit me that many of my recent reviews have been more skincare related. Like my other scheduled review is a skincare product lol!
But happy to be returning to myself and happy to be able to wear makeup again!!
It’s ok to be on a skincare kick 😂 I thought you didn’t want to test makeup because of your skin but it’s ok either way
As someone who has suffered from eczema most of my life I can definitely relate to the struggle! Thank you so much for sharing this product and review- I will definitely look into trying it out.
I love stuff with cica in it, a lot of korean products I currently use have it and I am obsessed. This product sounds lovely, I’ve actually never heard of this brand so thank you for introducing it to me. I’m so happy to hear it also calmed your eczema, it can be so hard to find ointments and creams that help with eczema. I don’t have it myself but I’ve seen a lot of friends struggle to find something that works. I’ll definitely let them know about this product.
I’m so excited to be learning more about K-beauty and Korean skincare, more specifically. I feel like so many K-skincare brands are lightyears ahead of many American ones. This was a total win for me! IOPE is part of the Amore Pacific family of brands, but I’ve realized that its def one of the lesser-known ones in the family!
I’m so happy to hear that the IOPE Gentle Cica Cream has helped soothe your skin! Although I don’t personally have issues with my skin (at the moment), my sister used to have a tonne of issues with her skin, which could be painful and seemed very difficult to control. All it takes is finding a product that works for you and it can really help, even if it’s a struggle to get there. Really really happy for you!
This cream sounds amazing to be honest. I love moisturisers that are nourishing but don’t feel greasy on the skin!
This was such a treasure to try – truly one of the most nurturing products I’ve tried to help repair my skin!!
