After being bombarded with a relentless number of retargeted Boxycharm ads on YouTube, I finally succumbed to the pressure and signed up for a Boxycharm subscription this September. Please keep reading for an unboxing of the Boxycharm December 2019 box. Is this box a dud or is it dope?

Ciate London – Marbled Light Illuminating Blusher – Halo | Retail Value $24.00, CF
The Ciate London Marbled Light Illuminating Blusher promises to provide a radiant flush of color on the cheeks. Also, the formula is matte with illuminating particles throughout. I received the shade Halo, a deep dusty pink. Additionally, this lightweight blush is formulated without talc.
[2020 Editor’s Note: Ciate reformulated the Marbled Light Blushers. As a result of the reformulation, the new formula now contains talc. However, Boxycharm customers were not made aware of this change until customers noticed a discrepancy between the ingredients listed on the box versus the ingredients listed on the brand’s website.]
Although the packaging does not feel luxe, the blush itself reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. Moreover, the beautiful marled pattern looks super luxe. Plus, I love that this is formulated without talc. I will be keeping this!
Saturday Skin – Waterfall Glacier Water Cream | Retail Value: $39.00, CF
The Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream* promises to envelop the skin with deep hydration, soothing it, and leaving it looking radiant. I’ve never tried anything from Saturday Skin. However, I always longed to try the brand. Therefore, I will be keeping this!
[2020 Editor’s note: I am actively using the Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream and can confirm that I love it. The lightweight, gel consistency works perfectly for my sensitive, oily skin. However, I do not think this formula would provide deep hydration for anyone with dry skin.]
Boxycharm December 2019 Unboxing
Seraphine Botanicals – Daikon + Dreams – Lip Exfoliator with Radish Extract | Retail Value: $24.00, CF
The Seraphine Botanicals Daikon + Dreams Lip Exfoliator with Radish Extract promises smooth, cleanse, and condition the lips, while leaving them protected from future chapping. Although I have oily skin, my lips are always dry and cracked. Therefore, lip exfoliators are a must for removing dead skin during the winter months. I will be keeping this!
Storybook Cosmetics – Fairy Tales: Little Red Riding Hood Palette | Retail Value: $35.00, CF
The Storybook Cosmetics Fairy Tales: Little Red Riding Hood Palette was created in collaboration with Boxycharm. It includes four matte shadows and two metallic shadows. The outer packaging is charming with its classical book design. Also, I am a sucker for indie beauty brands and red eyeshadow. For me, a red shadow is just another neutral shade. I will be keeping this palette!
P.S. There was controversy surrounding this particular palette. Storybooks Cosmetics typically manufactures their palettes in the US. However, for this collaboration, the brand used a different factory based in China.

Reema Beauty – True Brow Makeover Kit – Dark | Retail Value: $30.00
The Brow Makeover Kit promises to add definition to your brows through customizable brow powders and gel. I’m always open to trying new brow products, so I will be keeping this!

Final Thoughts on Boxycharm December 2019
Surprisingly, the Boxycharm December 2019 box has been my favorite box this year. At first, I thought I was going to be disappointed when I realized there was a high likelihood I’d receive another eyeshadow palette. However, something about the Storybook Cosmetics Palette drew me in enough to want to try it! Also, the Ciate Blush looks quite beautiful in the pan.
This is the first Boxycharm box I’ve received this year where I’ve kept all the products that I received. I’d give the Boxycharm December 2019 box 4.5/5 stars.
[2020 Editor’s note: I gave away two out of the three products in this box. Also, I am constantly changing my mind as to whether I should keep the Ciate blush. In hindsight, this was one of the worst boxes I received during my six month subscription.]
