What can I say? I love new beauty. Many of my birthday gifts this year were beauty related buys from my friends and family. Please keep reading for a recap 2019 Cruelty-Free Birthday Haul.
The gifts I received in Cruelty-Free Beauty haul represents my beauty tastes. I was given a mix of prestige, indie, and affordable products. Of course, a few eyeshadow palettes were thrown in, too.
Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina Palette | $45.00, CF (now discontinued)
The Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina Palette caught my attention when I saw Jackie’s announcement on YouTube. This is a half colorful, half neutral eyeshadow palette. My boyfriend’s family gifted me the Huda Beauty New Nudes Palette in early November. When this palette first released I was skeptical. However, over the last year I’ve fallen in love with the color story. Given how this palette has stayed in my mind, I was very excited to receive this as a gift.
Lime Crime Venus III Palette | $38.00, CF
The Lime Crime Venus III Palette is a palette I lusted for since it was released. However, I was unsure how I felt about the brand. Lime Crime has a controversial past. However, I believe they are working to be better. Check out this interview JKISSA conducted with the CEO of Lime Crime.
I love purple tones like this. I am excited to test the Lime Crime formula for the first time. Please let me know if you’ve tried this palette or any shadows from the brand.

My jaw dropped when I first saw the images of the Milk Makeup x Sephora Collection Studio Brush Set. These look sleek and futuristic. I am always in need of new brushes given how frequently I wear cosmetics.

Thoughts on my 2019 Cruelty-Free Beauty Haul
First, I am so thankful to my friends and family for buying me these thoughtful gifts. As I mentioned above, I’ve been lusting after many of these products for some time. That being said, I don’t always love receiving beauty products as gifts unless I specifically ask for something.
Does makeup bring me joy? For sure. But as someone with a large collection, makeup sometimes feels like a commodity. Therefore, I do not always want to receive makeup or skincare as gifts unless I specifically ask for something.
