ColourPop’s collab with beauty influencer, Karen Gonzalez, otherwise known as iluvsarahii released to a ton of hype online. Known for her flawless, Insta-glam makeup and talent, iluvsarahii is my favorite beauty influencers on Instagram. Needless to say, I jumped when the ColourPop x iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Palette released.
But did the palette live up to its expectation? Keep reading for my honest review on the Through My Eyes Palette.
Price & Packaging
ColourPop x ILUVSARAHIII Through My Eyes Palette retailed for $23.00 excluslively on the ColourPop website. However, the larger collection, which included two nude liquid lipsticks and a gloss, was available for $55.00.
The ColourPop x iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Palette design captivated. The trippy, orange-hued kaleidoscope pattern featuring Karen’s eyes immediately grabbed your attention. The gorgeous emerald hues and intricate kaleidoscope detailing of the Through My Eyes Palette truly mesmerized onlookers.
However, the box hugged the palette too tightly. In fact, I struggled to get the palette out of the box without tearing the carton.
Uncommon for nearly all ColourPop Palettes, iluvsarahii’s palette came with a mirror. As a result of the large mirror, I frequently reach for this palette when doing my makeup. Additionally, I appreciate the clearly labeled shade names in the palette.
ColourPop x Iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Palette Claims
ColorPop claims that this 16-pan palette helps wearers to express their individuality. Moreover, the green and orange tones of the ColourPop Through My Eyes palette were hyped as being “ahead of the curve with the trendiest shades.”
Also, ColourPop promised that the pressed shadows would apply evenly and last throughout the day. Finally, the shadows were further described as feeling “ultra-velvety and silky.”
Ingredients & Cruelty-Free Status
Unfortunately, the shadows in the ColourPop x Iluvsarahii palette contain Talc. Also, the shades Mesmer-Eyes, Lomo, Divina, and Missbehave are pressed pigments. As such these shades are labeled as “Not intended for use in the immediate eye area.”

ColourPop x Iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Swatches
Swatches are not always a perfect indicator of quality. However, they can provide hints to how a shadow will perform.
ColourPop x iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Palette Swatches
Row 1 Performance
- Lucido (metallic light gold) and Mesmer-Eyez (metallic gold orange) glided across my arm. However, Mesmer-Eyez crumbled and produced fallout.
- Wild Soul (dusty mustard yellow) felt dry, while Sandalwood (matte soft light beige) felt creamy
Row 2 Performance
- Euphoric (matte bright true orange) felt dry, but swatched well.
- Lomo (metallic bright coral red) stained my arm, which indicates that this shadow should be long-wearing.
- In a Wink (matte soft pastel peach) and Canela (matte soft terracotta sprinkled with gold glitter) swatched without issues
Row 3 Performance
- Emerald Dream (metallic vivid emerald green) shade was non-existent when I originally brush swatched
- Muze (metallic bright warm gold sprinkled with silver glitter) and Flecks ((metallic icy taupe packed with silver glitter) swatched like a dream
- Divina (matte deep blackberry) felt dry, applied patchily, and did not blend well
Row 4 Performance
- Nostalgia (matte mid-tone warm rose) swatched patchily
- Missbehave (matte rich wine red) felt dry but swatched fine
- Nocturn (metallic rosy red) is stunning, but produces a lot of fallout
- Moody (matte rich forest green) required a lot of building
Application & Wear-time
After having such mixed results with the swatches, I was apprehensive about how the Through My Eyes palette would apply on the eyes.
I wanted to test as many shades in this palette as possible given the inconsistent formula. After creating a few looks, my views are still mixed.
Reddish, Orange Smokey Eye
First, I buffed Sandalwood and I’m a Wink just above my crease. Second, I worked Euphoric into the middle of my crease. Next, I stamped Missbehave onto the outer portion of my eye.
Then, I took a flat, dense shader brush to pack Nocturne onto the center of the lid and softened the edges with Lomo. Afterwards, I packed Mesmer-Eyez on the lid. Using my fingers, I patted Lucido into the inner corner of the eye.
To bring the entire look together, I blended Euphoric and Missbehave into the crease to soften the upper edges . Finally, I deepened the look by stamping Divina into the outer-V. To note, Divina was patchy and hard to blend.
To finish the bottom of the eyes, I blended Warm Soul across the lower lash line. Then, I deepened the outer-corner with Euphoric. Finally, I highlighted my brow bone with Lucido.
The overall ease of application and pigmentation (except for Divina) impressed me. These colors lasted for 8+ hours without creasing or fading.
Final Thoughts on the ColourPop x ILUVSARAHII Palette
First, the ColourPop x iLuvSarahii palette was on-trend but was never “ahead of the curve.” It was a warm-toned palette with a few pops of green. Many 2018 palette releases followed this trend.
Personally, I never owned a neutral palette with a pop of green, but anyone with a large collection would likely own a similar palette now. Also, another common complaint about the ColourPop x iluvsarahii Through My Eyes Palette was its similarity to the Dream St. Palette. However, neither palette is still for sale on the ColourPop website.
Most of the shadows wore beautifully on the eye. However, I was not happy that a few of the deep matte shadows were duds. In the end, the quality of the palette impressed me.
If the ColourPop restocks the palette, I recommend the ColourPop x iLuvSarahii Through My Eyes Palette to Karen’s fans or anyone looking for a spicy neutral palette. However, eyeshadow lovers that already own similar-looking palettes did not miss out.
