Tired of pursuing perfectly shaped, full Instagram block brows?

I’ve been in love with the @NomadCosmetics Cali

I’ve been in love with the @NomadCosmetics Cali quads since they released last year. (＊◕ᴗ◕＊) Needless to say, I JUMPED when these summery quads went on sale earlier this year. ♥

Like all Nomad Palettes, I love the attention to detail and theme - from the packaging to the shades and the embossing. 🏄‍♀️ The surfboard prints are too cute.

In terms of the color stories, I feel like these are neutrals with a twist.
🏄‍♂️ 🏄‍♂️ With its grungy greens & browns, the Malibu Surf Shack Palette is inspired the vibes of minimalist, Malibu surf shacks. This palette contains one shimmer & three mattes.
🏄‍♀️ 🏄‍♀️ Meanwhile, the Encinitas Surf Shack Palette contains 4 matte shadows inspired by the California coast.

Each shade is pigmented, but still easy to blend and build up. Plus, these shadows feel creamy and buttery. 10/10 would recommend these two quads if you enjoy the color story.

P.S. I received (and photographed) the new America’s Parks Palette. ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ So, expect thoughts later this week. ❁

Between adjusting to dog mom life and a prepping to start a new job (!!tomorrow!!), life has been such a whirlwind. But yesterday, I finally carved out some time for a couple of photoshoots & I’m thrilled to be back. ♥ will slowly start catching up on posts again.

This beautiful texture shot comes from @byterryofficial’s CC Brightening Palette in Sunny Flash. I picked up both of the CC Brightening Palette’s during @dermstore‘s Summer Sale as a celebration for getting my new job!

And these quads are just as beautiful in person as they look online - maybe even prettier. The formula itself is sheer and glowy, but buildable. The only con is the v strong floral scent.

After years of watching #PanThoseEyeshadows update

After years of watching #PanThoseEyeshadows updates, on YouTube, I knew that 2021 would be the year I finally tried this project for myself. However, as someone with hundreds of palettes (and thousands of shadows), I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted to approach this eyeshadow-based project.

For those that don’t know, Pan Those Eyeshadows is an eyeshadow-based project pan where the goal is to hit pan on as many shadows as possible. Many participants randomize their palettes or their shadows to select the shades they focus on.

Instead of randomizing my shadows, I chose to select 2 basic focus palettes - my beloved @shophudabeauty Smokey Obsessions & my @lagirlcosmetics Downplay Palettes. These palettes compliment each other and work well with many other shadows in my huge collection.

And as you can tell from the photos, I’ve been making great progress. I hit all these pans in 2021! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

PROJECT GOALS
🖤 Smokey Obsessions: hit pan on every shimmer & at least one of the darker brown mattes.
🖤 Downplay: Hit pan on at least 3 shades

Currently, I’m focusing my efforts on the silver & chocolate brown shade in the Smokey Obsessions Palette. Within the Downplay Palette, I’ve primarily focused my efforts on the light-to-midtone mattes.

Once I reach my goal in a palette, I’ll swap in something new!

Don’t ask me what shade this is because this golden shot is actually from last summer lol. [IRL I’m wearing Glazed on my lips. Seriously obsessed with how comfortable and high shine the @fentybeauty Slip Shine formula is. 🤩].

Finding time to shoot has been a bit of a struggle since the the pup has come, but both the weather and my mood have been sunny lately so some new shoots are on the horizon this week. 📸 And, I’ve started writing up more reviews for some of the products I’ve been loving but haven’t yet been spotlighted on my blog! 💕

Do you shoot in natural light or do you use a ring light? I used to rely solely on my ring light but there’s something so magical about natural light. ✨

With Solar still adjusting to her new home, I’ve actually been physically packing makeup baskets every week. [More updates to come on some of the exciting progress on my makeup basket.]

However, the Persona blush shown in this flatlay has been my staple over the last two weeks. 💕 Even though I’m using a cream blush daily, I love to set my cream formulas on the days when I’m going to be on a lot of zoom calls. This helps to mitigate shine and help keep my formulas locked into place.
