As I write this post, I am sitting on a worn-out, secondhand couch left by a former roommate. Currently, this is the only piece of furniture in my apartment that is suitable for sitting. Like many New Englanders, I am moving out of my apartment on September 1st, so much of my furniture has been sold or given to others for free.
On my commute to work, I can't help but to wonder, how many people are aiming to get through the day? How often do I start my own day thinking, I'll be happy when this day is over. Unfortunately, too many people go through life merely aiming to make it through their day. In the immortal words of Switchfoot, "I wanna thrive, not just survive." But what does it mean to thrive? Personally, when I envision the word "thrive," I see lush green vegetation blooming, regardless of the weather or the environment.
