Fun fact: Since it’s release, I’ve had a major crush on the @tartecosmetics Man Eater Palette. 😈 I don’t know why but there’s always been something about this palette that spoke to me. It kinda feels like the Tartlette in Bloom’s sexier younger sister. 💋

But on another, even BETTER note, today marks the last day of my 30-day #nobuy. 🎉 🎉 And after a year and a half of failed attempts at low buys and no buys, I’m so thrilled that I did it. 😁

Although 30 days without shopping may seem trivial to some, I used makeup buying as an unhealthy coping mechanism while I was in grad school. And although I’ve articulated this in a few posts on my blog, I want to highlight some of the ways that makeup buying (or any form of shopping) addiction can negatively impact your life.

1. It encourages you to take on debt
2. It clutters your space
3. It eats up your time
4. It encourages deceptive behavior

This week, I was once again reminded that 2020 seems to be the year of #sensitizedskin for me. 😭 After climbing an apple tree last weekend 🍎 🌳 my skin became super puffy, red, and itchy.... and it’s stayed this way since Sunday. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😖

The Dose of Colors Baked Browns Palette made me realize that I didn’t dislike all-matte palettes like I thought. 🤔 I just disliked the previous ones I tried! The formula is ultra-soft & powdery, but this makes the shadows very easy to blend. 🖌 Also, I’ve found that this is a palette that gets better, the more you use it.

I know that ABH is currently on the “bad list” for many right now, but the Soft Glam Palette remains a staple in my collection. ✨ Although this was intended to be the perfect bridal palette 👰🏻, this is one of my go-to palettes when I want to look pretty but don’t know what to use!

On another note, my #nobuy is still going strong. 💪🏻 In fact, today marks 3 straight weeks of no purchases - as in no beauty purchases or otherwise. 🙅🏻‍♀️🛍🙅🏻‍♀️ As cheesy as this sounds, I honestly feel like this challenge has helped me reclaim some of my own power and help me focus on showing love to the makeup I already own. ♥️

P.S. I’ve been trying to pan a favorite neutral palette on the DL, but struggle so hard to hit pan. Seriously contemplating doing Pan That Palette or Pan Those Eyeshadows next year. 🤔 BUT time will tell. ⏰
