Bad or Rad | It Cosmetics Skin Care Review

I’ve never understood the hype that surrounds IT Cosmetics skincare. My disinterest could be attributed to snobbery or just a general sense of apathy towards this brand. Read my IT Cosmetics Skincare review.

Honest IT Cosmetics Skincare Review

When the opportunity arose for me to try IT Cosmetics skincare for free, I jumped on it. I genuinely want to understand why so many people rave about the brand. Therefore, I used some of my Sephora points to pick up the “IT Cosmetics – It’s Your Glow Getting Essentials” for 500 points. This kit contained:

For the last month and a half, I’ve been meticulously trying out the aforementioned IT Cosmetics Skincare products. I am always looking to find the next great product to maintain my skin’s youthful glow or prevent the appearance of fine lines. Although great skincare doesn’t need to break the bank, I am willing to splurge if the products show results.

But are these IT Cosmetics skincare products worth the price? Let’s find out.

Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water

Claims: The Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water promises to help purify, balance and brighten the appearance of skin while diffusing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Also, as micellar water, the product promises to gently clean the skin, removing dirt and oil.

Application: For best application, dab some cleanser onto a cotton round. Gently pat all over the face. Do not rinse off after application.

Reality: The Miracle Water left my skin feeling refreshed and bright, living up to the product’s claim. That being said, I didn’t see any improvement with the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles.

Price: $38.00

Rad or Bad? While this was a rad product, I would not repurchase at this time. If I’m going to spend $38.00 on a Micellar Water, it better be the best I’ve ever tried.

IT Cosmetics Miracle Water 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water Deluxe Mini

Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm

Claims: The Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm promises to instantly remove makeup and purify the skin. Additionally, the balm promises to prevent signs of aging through a skin-softening serum that adds moisture back to the skin. Over time, this product will help ward off the effects of pollutants and other free-radicals responsible for early signs of aging. According to the website:

Perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive, Bye Bye Makeup™ takes it all off (without stripping)—and leaves your skin instantly hydrated and supple!

Application: This makeup remover is a true balm. While it is stiff at first, the product quickly melts in hands. For best application, apply a small amount to the face. Then, gently rub into the skin.

Reality: I didn’t have high hopes for this product when another blogger friend told me this broke her out. Without a doubt, this was one of the worst makeup removers I’ve ever used.

The balmy formula felt super thick on the skin. Additionally, it left a residue that made my skin feel greasy and caused breakouts. Therefore, this product is not perfect for all skin types, especially those with sensitive, oily skin.

Even after using charcoal masks and other strong cleansers, I couldn’t make this product work for me. Thus, I decided to toss it out.

Price: $38.00

Bad or Rad? The Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm was horrific for my sensitive skin. I would not repurchase. Also, only recommend this to individuals with severely dry skin.

Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer

Claims: The Secret Sauce Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer promises to instantly transform and hydrate the skin. Also, it promises to fight the signs of aging with anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, licorice root, and vitamin C. Moreover, this product contains bioluminescence and diamond powder to give the appearance of a youthful glow.

Application: The Secret Sauce is best applied with clean hands onto a freshly washed face. Since this comes in a jar, this product is not totally suitable for sharing.

Reality: The Secret Sauce was another dud. Although I have oily skin, this product actually made my skin feel dry and dehydrated after a few weeks.  Moreover, my skin started to look dull and my fine lines became more pronounced as a result of poor hydration.

Price: $68.00

Bad or Rad? Bad – I would never pay $68.00 for this moisturizer when there are better moisturizers at the drugstore for less than a third of the price.

IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce Cream

Bye Bye Under Eye – Eye Cream

Claims: Bye Bye Under Eye – Eye Cream promises to reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness. Also, this under eye cream promises to brighten dark circles, while preventing the signs of aging through powerful ingredients like caffeine, vitamin C, cucumber extract and peptides.

Application: This product comes in a jar and is best applied with fingers.

Reality: HOLY COW! This is the most amazing eye cream I’ve tried to date. [P.S. June 2020 LP still stands by this statement.] I saw results immediately after application.

In fact, I applied this cream under one eye and asked my boyfriend and family members whether they thought one eye looked any different than the other and their feedback was unanimous. The eye that I had applied Bye Bye Under Eye looked noticeably brighter and tighter.

However, for how amazing this product worked, it is not without its faults. Once I run out of my deluxe mini, I am unlikely to repurchase because the cream was too heavy for regular use under my eye. In fact, it made the milia (tiny bumps) under my eyes much worse. Additionally, I am unsure whether this product is actually treating my under eye wrinkles and dark circles, or if the cream merely contains ingredients that make my skin look brighter.

[June 2020 Me: I did end up repurchasing this eye cream. I determined that the eye cream was not causing Milia. Also, eye under eyes looked noticeably worse after I stopped using this cream! Since this review purchased at least two more full size jars. As a beauty reviewer, this is RARE.]

Price: $48.00

IT Cosmetics Skincare Review Final Thoughts

I still have no clue what to make of this IT Cosmetics skincare. Although I enjoyed two of the products, The Miracle Water and Bye Bye Under Eye, I absolutely hated the two other products that came in my Sephora kit.

I’ve used drugstore products that performed better than two of these IT Cosmetics skincare products. Not all skincare needs a long list of fancy ingredients to perform well. However, sometimes, luxury skin care can provide a luxury experience. Based on this experience with IT Cosmetics skincare, I am unlikely to try another full-size product. However, I would be willing to try some small, deluxe size samples.

Since this review, I have tried more from the brand – and I’m glad that I did! No other brand has released an eye cream that I’ve loved as much as Bye Bye Under Eye.
