5 Easy Steps to Repress a Shattered Eyeshadow without Breaking the Bank
1 | Gather Supplies & Find a Clean, Flat Surface
The first easy step to repress a shattered eyeshadow is to gather the supplies needed to revive the shadow. Thankfully, it is easy and cheap to repress an eyeshadow. Most of the supplies needed should be readily available items.
Personally, the kitchen table, the bathroom counter, or a desk are the most logical areas to repress a shadow. These are surfaces that are flat and can easily be cleaned.
Supplies needed: Rubbing Alcohol, Sharp Object (knife, fork, small pair of scissors, tweezers, etc.), and tissues
Step 2: Crush the Shattered Shadows More!

Although this may seem counter-intuitive, you must further break the shattered eyeshadow to repress the shattered eyeshadow later.
Step 3: Mix Rubbing Alcohol in with the shattered eyeshadow

Once the shadow has been broken apart, begin to slowly mix rubbing alcohol into the pan of the shattered eyeshadow. Using the sharp object, mix the rubbing alcohol together with the shattered eyeshadow powder until a paste-like consistency is achieved.
Step 4: Place a Tissue Over the Shadow Mix to Soak Up Extra Liquid

Once the shattered eyeshadow has been mixed with the alcohol, gently press half a tissue over the top of the wet pan. The tissue will help to absorb excess liquid.
Step 5: Let Your Shadows Dry

The final easy step to repress a shattered eyeshadow for cheap is to set the paste-like shadow out on a flat surface and let it dry overnight.
And Voila: You Now Have a Perfectly Usable Palette!

If an eyeshadow has arrived on your doorsteps damaged, I recommend reaching out to the retailer or brand before you start to repress the shadows. It is the brand’s responsibility to ship your items with care.
Should an item arrive damaged, do not be afraid to advocate for yourself. Ask for replacement shades, a new product, a partial refund, or even a full refund. If a brand gives you a hard time, your bank or credit card service can assist you in withholding payment!
But what do you do if a limited edition palette or shadow arrives shattered? Try following these 5 easy steps to repress a shattered eyeshadow. While a shattered eyeshadow may not look as pretty once it is repressed, it should perform the same (or similarly) to a new shadow. If all else fails, try looking for a new or gently used product on Poshmark or Mercari!
