About Uoma Beauty
Uoma Beauty (pronounced uh-mah) means “beautiful” in the Igbo language of southeastern Nigeria. As a brand Uoma wants to rewrite what it means to be inclusive and diverse. The brand celebrates and accepts individuals for who they are and not what they look like. Avid fans, called the Uoma Tribe welcome everyone.
Everything about the brand’s mission exudes empowerment, not just for women, but for all genders, all colors, all races. Nigerian LMVH beauty executive, Sharon Chuter founded and launched the brand in 2019 across the US.
Many of the brand’s products celebrate its African heritage through packaging design, product and shade names, and vivid pigmentation that works for all skin tones. For example, iconic, rule-breaking black women inspired each color in Uoma’s line of matte lipsticks.

Uoma Beauty Black Magic Savage Palette Claims
Uoma Beauty claims that the Savage Black Magic Palette provide hypnotic, high octane, high impact and highly pigmented colors with otherworldly sparkle, vibrancy, and texture. Moreover, the brand promises that these shadows are long-lasting, water-resistant, and lightweight.
The 10-pan palette includes five matte and five shimmer shadows. Half the palette is cool-toned, while the other is warm.
Packaging & Price
The Uoma Savage Black Magic Palette comes in a sleek, black cardboard palette with intricate, African-inspired design detailing on the front with blue and red strokes. Inside of the palette is a long mirror and clearly labeled eyeshadows.
Inside the palette, the shimmers are on the top row while the mattes are on the bottom row. Moreover, the brand groups the warm-toned shadows together and the cooler-toned shadows together. All-in-all this makes for clean, cohesive organization.
The palette retails for $44.00. Given that the palette includes 10 grams of shadow, the price per gram equals $4.40. Price-wise, Uoma’s products fall in-line with other prestige brands. For example, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Soft Glam Palette contains 10.36 grams of eyeshadow. That palette retails for $42.00, so the price per gram is $4.05.

Ingredients & Cruelty-Free Status
The Savage Black Magic Palette is Cruelty-Free, meaning that the brand does not test on animals. Also, the palette is free of Parabens, fragrance, and D5.
To note, D5 gives cosmetic products a silky smooth texture. Although not discussed in many US beauty circles, D5 is toxic to aquatic life. This ingredient is banned in the EU.
This palette is not Vegan, as a number of the shimmer shades contain Carmine. Finally, many of the shadows contain Talc. Visit the Uoma Beauty website for a full list of ingredients.
Uoma Beauty Black Magic Savage Palette Swatches
As always, swatches are not always a perfect indicator of quality. However, they can provide helpful clues as to how a particular product performs in terms of pigmentation and ability to blend. I swatched the Savage Black Magic Palette on a bare arm using my fingers.

As you can tell by the swatches, Uoma did not come to play games. Each shadow is highly pigmented. The shadows glide onto the arm with ease.
While the mattes feel creamy, the shimmer shades texture reminds me of the Super Sparkles in Nabla’s Dreamy 2 Palette. The lightweight Uoma shimmers are firmly pressed in the pan.
Matte Shadows: Storm (deep blue), Black Ya’ll (black), Foxy (light brown), Warrior (burnt blush), Ọya (blush pink)
Metallic & Shimmer Shadows: Black Magic (shimmery silver with black undertones), Fierce (shimmery metallic blue), She Tore (metallic burnt pink), Savage (shimmery burnt coral red), Lightening (shimmery silver)
Application & Wear-Time
The matte shadows in the Uoma Savage Black Magic Palette do not disappoint. The matte shadows are incredibly pigmented. Also, they play well with other shadows.
Unlike many of the popular, powdery formulas produced by other mainstream brands, the Uoma mattes produce little fallout. For best application, I use a soft, fluffy brush for crease work. Then, I reach for a dense packing brush to build pigmentation on the lids.
Individuals with fair skin may need to reach into an another palette for a transition shade or a shade to set the lids. However, makeup lovers with medium to deep skin tones will not encounter this issue.
The Savage shimmers truly shine. They look ultra glittery on the eye. When I wear the blue and silver shades in this palette, I literally feel starry-eyed.
Use your fingers for the best application of the glittery shadows in the Savage Palette. Although a flat shader brush will work, the shades will look less impactful applied this way.
The cool tone shades in the Savage Black Magic Palette are truly standout. I wear the cool-toned shades all day (12+ hours) without experiencing fading, creasing, or transfer. In contrast, the red shimmer shadows crease badly within a few hours of application.

Final Thoughts on the Uoma Savage Black Magic Palette
Everything about Uoma excites me. Not only does Uoma Beauty produce high-quality products, but the products they create make me feel happy. I am proud to support the brand. The brand that not only talks the talk but walks the walk when it comes to releasing inclusive products.
The Black Magic Palette is a vivid blue-red palette with formulas, unlike others I’ve tried. I feel so glamorous whenever I rock the high impact shimmers on my eye. Also, I feel badass when I create looks with this palette.
