Yearlong Beauty Low Buy | Mid-Year Check-In (Update #6)

For the past six months, I've been documenting my attempt to reign in my spending and to stop my beauty collection from rapid expansion. Sadly, I have not been successful with my attempts to follow a strict monthly low buy. As I move towards the 2nd half of my yearlong Low Buy, I'm buckling down and committing to a year-long Beauty No Buy.

MASSIVE Mid-Year Beauty Declutter (26% of my collection gone!)

MASSIVE Mid-Year Beauty Declutter (26% of my collection gone!)

As a beauty blogger and lover, I'm constantly trying out new cosmetic, skincare and hair care products. However, over the past 2-3 years, I've been attempting to reign in my shopping and work through what I own through a comprehensive inventory system, periodic No-Buys, and yearlong Project Pans. Although my preference is always to finish up the products I buy, decluttering is a necessity when you own a vast beauty collection. The below products are beauty items that I have decluttered this past Spring, excluding those products that I am currently trying to sell on Poshmark. Although the total number of products decluttered is not greater than the number of new items that entered my collection, I still view this declutter as a small victory. It takes a lot of mental toughness to think critically enough to declutter beauty products, because of the personal attachment I place on these goodies. Please keep reading to see what I moved out of my collection this Spring!

Makeup Minimalism | 2019 Beauty Low Buy Introduction & Project Pan Goal

At the close of 2018, I had every intention of doing a yearlong cosmetic No-Buy. Having successfully completed a 6 month No Buy in years past, I felt like this challenge would be doable for me. However, the more I thought about doing a yearlong No Buy, the more anxious I became about my spending... Β I started to spend uncontrollably, constantly buying new beauty products online. Essentially, I was on a beauty binge that lasted for roughly 2.5 months. As a result of my reckless spending this Fall and this Winter, I've decided to put myself on a three-month long No-Buy. My No-Buy started on February 11th and will run through May 11th.
