As a beauty blogger and lover, I'm constantly trying out new cosmetics, skincare and hair care products. Whether I've made a purchase myself, receive a gift, or a free sample, my collection has been expanding beyond my control. In an attempt to curb my waste and make use of what I own, I document my yearlong [...]
As a beauty blogger and lover, I'm constantly trying out new cosmetic, skincare and hair care products. However, over the past 2-3 years, I've been attempting to reign in my shopping and work through what I own through a comprehensive inventory system, periodic No-Buys, and yearlong Project Pans. The below products are beauty items that I am happy to have finished over the past 3 months. Although the total number of products finished is not greater than the number of new items that entered my collection, I still view these finished products as a small victory. Please keep reading to see what I used up this Summer!
From influencer collaborations, co-branded partnerships, to seasonal collections, consumers are constantly bombarded with a slew of limited edition releases. We've reached a saturation point in the market where we are being flooded with these limited edition beauty and fashion releases. Honestly, why wasn't I more aware of student discounts when I was an undergrad in college? Despite behind a diehard drug store beauty fan, I came to the recent realization that I don't actually talk about affordable beauty enough on my blog (outside of ColourPop). Although ColourPop is inexpensive, there aren't as easily accessible as "traditional" drugstore brands given that purchases don't qualify for free US shipping if they are under $30.00 USD. Recently, I snagged a few affordable drugstore goodies from Target and CVS Health that I am stoked to be sharing with you! Nearly everything I grabbed is from a brand that I've yet to try, so I'm excited to see how these will perform.
If you follow me on Twitter, then you may have seen that there was drama surrounding this year's Hauler bag at Beautycon NYC 2019. To summarize everything in the simplest terms possible, people were highly disappointed at this year's Hauler Bag (Freebie bag) because (1) the bag had barely any product in it when compared to previous years and (2) many of us actually received bags that were only half-full. Although Beautycon tried to rectify the latter issue, I still did not receive everything that my friend did and others were so disappointed that they didn't come back to swap out their bag. Nevertheless, between the hauler bag, the free samples from exhibiting brands, and the purchases I made at the event, I actually came home with a ton of products! As always, I don't share posts with the intention to brag...personally, I like watching or reading this type of content because I genuinely love beauty and I'm just curious to see what is out on the market. If you're like me, then please keep reading.
I am a beauty addict. Although I love the beauty industry and I love buying new products, my spending got out of hand the last few years. I've been making a big effort over the last two years to down-size my collection and to stop impulse shopping through meticulous inventory tracking, project panning, and intermittent shopping fasts. If you're interested to see how I did this year, then please keep reading!
After a year of buying and trying many new beauty products, it was finally time to evaluate my collection. I meticulously combed through my collection and got rid of the cosmetic, skin, and hair product that I didn't like, wouldn't use or expired. For today's post, I decided to share what I decluttered from my collection.
