When Kylie Cosmetics first came onto the scene in 2015 and KKW Beauty launched in 2017 I was super skeptical and I vowed never to purchase from either brand. But, never say never. I became a Kylie Cosmetics convert after playing with her products at the Kylie Cosmetics pop-up truck at Beautycon L.A. in 2018. After initially dismissing KKW, I became intrigued by the brand when I saw YouTubers like MakeupShayla speak highly of the brand and seeing my blogger friends writing rave reviews.
This July, I went a little crazy with my spending. I snagged a ton of ColourPop, Kylie, and KKW goodies during each brand’s Fourth of July Sale. Please keep reading to see what I picked up from these trendy, Cruelty-Free brands.
ColourPop – Fourth of July Sale
I wanted to hold out on this sale but eventually caved… to my eternal sadness though I waited too long to buy the Uh-Huh Honey Palette. I held out from purchasing anything during the 30% off flash sale… only to pick up a bunch of goodies on the last day of the 25% off sale.
Blush & Lite Stix Bundle – Peony for Your Thoughts | $22.00 USD ($16.50 USD on sale)
When the Blush & Lite Stix dropped I wanted to buy nearly all of the custom kits, but I held back. I ended up picking up the Peony for Your Thoughts bundle during the 25% off sale because I don’t own many pink blush shades (I tend to buy neutral, peach, or coral blushes).
Creme Gel Color – Best O, Get Paid, Prance | $6.50 USD ($4.88 USD on sale)
Earlier this year ColourPop relaunched and repackaged their Creme Gel Color pot liners and I wanted to buy the entire collection. I decided to wait and I’m glad I did. During the sale, I picked up three shades that were unique to my collection – Best O, Get Paid, and Prance.
Glitter Gel – Star Gazing Mini Trio | $12.00 USD ($9.00 USD on sale)
I’ve never tried any of the Glitter Gels from ColourPop, but have been quite intrigued. The sale offered me an opportunity to try this formula in a few mini-sized varieties.
Super Shock Shadow Bundle – Sunshine State | $18.00 USD ($13.50 USD on sale)
The Sunshine State Super Shock Shadow Bundle drew me in due to the mix of vibrant yellow and golden hues. I never need an excuse to buy the Super Shock Shadows since the formula is one of my absolute favorites.
Thinking of ordering from ColourPop for the first time? Please consider using my referral link for $5.00 off your first order. If you make a purchase, I’ll also receive $5.00 off my next purchase. Please note, I’ve purchased all of the aforementioned items.
In case you were wondering, I blacked out in July and went crazy with online shopping. Not only did I place two ColorPop orders in one month… but I actually placed three.
ColourPop Summer Release Roundup
During ColourPop’s insane Fourth of July sale, many of the brand’s most beloved eyeshadow palettes ran out of stock… including all of the 9-pan monochromatic palettes. When the Uh-Huh Honey Palette restocked, I decided to pick up a few more summer releases from the brand.
Uh-Huh Honey Eyeshadow Palette | $12.00 USD ($10.80 USD)
The Uh-Huh Honey Eyeshadow Palette is one of the most hyped releases of the summer, loved by both influencers and consumers, alike. I’m stoked to try this palette out.
Main Squeeze Eyeshadow Palette | $12.00 USD ($10.80 USD)
To be honest, when the Main Squeeze Eyeshadow Palette first released, I had little interest in it. However, after seeing a lot of great reviews and seeing the love that some of my friends had for this palette, I decided to give it a try.
Guava Have It Lippie Tint Duo | $12.00 USD ($10.80 USD)
I ordered the Guava Have It Lip Tint Duo because the colors are radically different from the plethora of neutrals that I own. I’m slightly nervous how these will look on my lips given the lip swatches I’ve seen look much different than the arm swatches I originally viewed.
Sol Dry Body Oil in Soft Gold | $15.00 USD ($13.50 USD)
Given that I’ve been stuck indoors all summer, I could use a good body oil to give my skin a radiant-looking glow. The Sol Dry Body Oil promises to provide a soft gold shimmering glow at an affordable price tag. I’m excited to compare this to my body oils from Bali and Sol de Janeiro. Would you be interested in seeing a comparison/dupe post?
Sol Body Kabuki | $12.00 USD ($10.80 USD)
In an attempt to make application of the Soft Gold Dry Oil easier, I picked up the Body Kabuki brush. I’m excited to see how both products work together and how this brush works with my other body oils.
P.S. I did save 10% using an affiliate code to make this purchase, as well as the below.
ColourPop x Halo Top Limited Edition Collection
To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, ColourPop launched a limited-edition collection in partnership with Halo Top. If you’re not familiar with Halo Top, this is an extremely popular American Ice Cream brand known for creating a high protein, low-calorie ice cream, as well as dairy-free ice cream alternatives.
Although the collection consisted of four super shock shadow bundles, I only picked up the Mint Chip & Strawberry bundles because these are unique colors to my collection.
Halo Top Mint Chip Super Shock Shadow Duo | $12.00 USD ($10.80 USD)
I own very few green eyeshadows and next to no green Super Shock Shadows, so I was immediately drawn to the Mint Chip Super Shock Shadow duo.
Halo Top Strawberry Super Shock Shadow Duo | $12.80 USD ($10.80 USD)
Similar to the Mint Chip Duo, the Strawberry Duo appealed to me because these shadows fill a gap in my collection. I don’t own many if any, red shimmer shades quite like these, so I’m excited to add this duo to my collection.
Large Pink Desert Empty Palette | $10.00 USD ($9.00 USD)
I hate paying to ship and I’m always in need of extra blank palettes, so I added the Large Pink Desert Palette to my order.
KKW Beauty – Fourth of July Sale
KKW dropped a surprise sale at 3:00 PM EST where customers could receive anywhere from $10-30.00 USD off their purchase PLUS a free single shadow or gloss with orders starting at $50.00 USD.
Best of Pink Lipsticks Bundle | $65.00 USD
Lately, I’ve been on a major lippie kick and I found myself very attracted to the Best of Pink Lipsticks Bundle from KKW due to the shade variety and minimalist packaging.
Creme Contour Stick – Light 1 | $18.00 USD (Free during the sale)
Kim Kardashian and her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, helped to bring contouring to the forefront of mainstream American beauty trends. How could I not try a KKW contouring product? I grabbed the shade Light 1.
Flashing Lights Pressed Powder Single – Freaky | $21.00 USD (Free with purchase)
When I placed my order online I was in such a frenzied state because (1) I had no clue they were going to drop a surprise sale and (2) I was afraid they’d run out of my shade matches in the Liquid Concealers so I actually forgot to place my freebie in my cart. When I realized my mistake I emailed the customer service team at KKW in the hopes of still adding the free pressed pigment to my order. I am THRILLED to say that KKW responded to my inquiry in a timely fashion and allowed me to add a freebie to my order. I chose one of the Flashing Lights Pressed Powder Singles in the shade Freaky.
Liquid Concealer – 3 Fair Light | $18.00 USD ($6.00 USD during the sale)
In complete honesty, I seriously contemplated picking up one of the concealer kits. However, I decided to “edit” myself (LOL) since I didn’t need any new face tools or setting powders. I picked up the Liquid Concealer in the shade 3 Fair Light. I’m slightly worried this shade will be too light for me, but not overly concerned since I can always use a light concealer for highlighting the under eye or my T-zone.
Kylie Cosmetics – Fourth of July Sale
Kylie Cosmetics ran a 20% off Sale across the site, with some items being sold at an even bigger discount. Given the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liners are my favorite lip liner formula, I knew I had to shop this sale.
Kybrows – Brow Pomade in Medium Brown | $16.00 USD ($12.60 USD on sale)
Even though I don’t love an overly polished or perfected brow, I would like a little more definition. Having owned and decluttered prestige pomades, I wanted to try a more affordable option. So far, I’ve heard great things about the Kybrows Pomade so I’m excited to give this a try.
Lip Liners – 22, Coconut, Koko K, Mary Jo K | $12.00 USD ($8.40 – 9.60 on sale)
The Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liners are creamy, pigmented, long-lasting lip liners that pair well with a variety of lippie formulas. During the Fourth of July Sale, I picked up four shades (22, Coconut, Koko K, Mary Jo K) since the Kylie formula is my current favorite.
Kylie Cosmetics – Summer 2019 Collection
I don’t normally check for Kylie’s limited edition collections, but when I saw all the beautiful promo photos and swatches on TrendMood, I was immediately entranced. I do want to call out that this collection took a long time to ship out (I didn’t receive a shipping confirmation until I emailed customer service 10 days after placing my order).
Lip Blush Liquid Lipsticks – Bikini Bod & Boss Lady | $16.00 USD
Even though Kylie is known for her liquid lipsticks, I’ve never tried any from the brand. However, when I read about the new Lip Blush formula and saw the new shades I was immediately intrigued. I’m assuming this formula will be similar to ColourPop’s Blotted Lip Formula. I picked up the shades Bikini Bod & Boss Lady.
Under the Sea Lipstick Bundle | $17.00 USD
I’ve tried Kylie’s creme lipsticks and lip liners and I love them, so I’m super excited to try out the matte and metallic bullet lipstick formulas especially given the vibrancy of these beachy shades. I ended up picking up the bullet lipstick bundle includes the shades Beach Bum (matte), Paradise Please (matte), and Endless Summer (metallic).
Shimmer Eye Glaze – Night Swim | $20.00 USD
The Shimmer Eye Glazes look so stunningly beautiful in the swatch photos that were shared online. My eyes were immediately drawn to the bronze shade, Night Swim. I’m excited to incorporate this into my looks and to test out this new release.
